Once is a accident, Twice is a coincidence.. any more is a conspiracy

Kaiga Atomic Power Station is in news again for wrong reasons. This time because 55 of its employees were exposed to an excessive radiation dosage when they drank water that had been mixed with tritium, a highly radioactive substance. Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited blamed the incident on “an insider’s mischief.” NPCIL alleged that “an insider had mixed tritium in drinking water in a cooler kept in the operating island of the first unit” at Kaiga.

The current Kaiga plants include two units that are outside the purview of International Atomic Energy Agency safeguards, and thus, they are officially set aside for "strategic" or military use. Kaiga forms an important link in the chain of plutonium producing cycle feeding the Indian nuclear weapons programme. Kaiga is also close to India's major naval base, INS Kadamba

This is not first time Kaiga Plant has been in news for wrong reasons. In May 1994, the containment dome of Kaiga-I suffered a “calamity'’ during construction when the inner layer or “lamination'” broke under stress and collapsed. Later in 1999, there was also a less publicised fire on the same dome. “The Times of India” reported it as ‘Fire Breaks Out in Kaiga Plant Dome’ on November 13.

Earlier in the year, Nuclear scientist Lokanathan Mahalingam, who worked in the Simulator Training Division of the Kaiga Atomic Power Station, went missing on the morning of June 8.  A  week later, Indian Navy divers recovered his body from the Kali river near the plant.   His death was treated as a suicide.

About six weeks earlier to Lokanathan Mahalingam incident, another NPC non-technical employee Ravi Mule was found dead in the township. He too had gone for morning walk. According to the medical report, the death of Ravi Mule might be caused by the injuries he suffered after his fall from a multi-storeyed building in the township.

Interested quarters in neighboring Pakistan are trying to use these event to embarrass India and are trying to question the security of Indian nuclear programme. Interestingly, It was Pakistan who was facing heat from India over safety of their nuclear assets.

We hope that security establishment is looking at all the possible angles.

Love Jihad cases suspected in Karnataka

Just as in the cases of Kerala, two cases in Karnataka were also brought to the court under Habeas Corpus notification by the girls’ parents.

Selvaraj, a resident of Chamarajanagar, filed the petition saying his daughter Siljaraj had gone missing on Aug. 8 and he was later informed that certain Askar of Kannur in Kerala had married her after she had converted to Islam.

He also said in his petition he was prevented from meeting his daughter since she was attending madrassa classes in Kannur to learn about her new religion.
The petitioner said he filed the petition when his second attempt to meet his daughter failed even after he went with police escort.

Indians you can breath easy now – Rahul Baba is here

Indians can now breath easy. Rahul Baba has empathetically declared that Arunachal Pradesh is very much part of India. This should rest any doubts in our Minds.

“Arunachal Pradesh is an Indian state, Tamil Nadu is an Indian state, Jharkhand is an Indian state. My attitude towards all the states is the same and it will not be changed.

I am sure he might have raised this during their visit to China Last year. Last year Rahul Baba, Sonia Mama, Priyanka Didi and Robert Vadra Uncle were official guests of Communist Party of China (CPC) for inaugural ceremony of the Olympics 2008

Chandrayaan II Naming Contest: What should be the spot on which first Indian will land be called?

Thru Chandrayaan I, for first time in history India was able to  reach the lunar surface. And the spot was named “Jawahar Point” after you know who.

Now with Chandrayaan II for first time in History an Indian will put his foot on moon. It will be a huge achievement for India and its scientific community. It is rumored that the UPA Govt is struggling with vexed issue of what should we call the spot where Indian lands? I patriot I have decided to do my best to help this government.

I call upon all my compatriots to suggest most suitable name. In accordance with GOI approved naming conventions, only names from First Family will be allowed.  Scenarios such as “Rahul Gandhi should have his first child before that and we should give both moon and Rahuls Kid same name” is allowed.

Now let your Imagination flow…..

Shashi Tharoor Pitches for Obama

Nobel Peace prize for Obama may have drawn sharp criticism, gasps of surprise and cries of too much, too soon. But our own Shashi Tharoor is pitching for Obama as according to him President Obama has given a lot of people hope around the world and has helped in improving the image of the US.

If selling hope was primary criteria for giving Nobel Peace prize, no one would be better qualified than the Congress Leadership. All they have been doing is selling hope to 1/6th of worlds population for last 60 years thru … Garibi Hatao… Aam Admi slogans etc. All the succeeded in doing is reduce some Garibs by partitioning the country.

Perhaps Mr ex UN may not be aware that in his 1895 will, Alfred Nobel stipulated that the peace prize should go "to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations and the abolition or reduction of standing armies and the formation and spreading of peace congresses”. And not to person who gives maximum hope. Obamas presidency began less than two weeks before the Feb. 1 nomination deadline for the prize and even today he is yet to show any concrete achievements in peacemaking.

Or is it Mr. Tharoor planning to give another try for UN General Secretary Post.  Eitherway, It seems sycophancy comes naturally to congressmen.

former UPA Minister for External Affairs Natwar Singh tries to justify Chinas claim on Tawang

On a day when China expressed objections to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s visit to Arunachal Pradesh on the grounds that it was disputed territory, former Minister for External Affairs Natwar Singh said that India’s claim to Tawang in Arunachal was not a very old one.

Singh said during a discussion on his book My China Diary: 1956-88 on Tuesday.

“In the map of India even in 1953 Tawang was not shown,”

He added:

“I hope the Indian Prime Minister goes to Tawang, but he doesn’t. Why? If you are convinced it is part of India, why don’t you go?

I shudder at the thought that even our ex foreign minister was not convinced about India's Claim!!!

Congress adopting Mayawati Model

If the Congress has its way, residents of Hyderabad are sure to bump into a statue of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy at every major intersection.

Andhra Pradesh health minister and Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee president Danam Nagender has announced that that at least 30 statues of YSR are likely to be installed in Greater Hyderabad.

While the first statue of YSR came up in the city last week, two more statues are scheduled to be unveiled on October 17

VHP Church Join hands against Love Jihad

Love Jihad, a religious conversion racket which lures gullible girls by feigning love, has brought rivals Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Christian groups in Kerala together.

K S Samson, an office-bearer of Kochi-based Christian Association for Social Action (CASA),

‘‘Both Hindu and Christian girls are falling prey to the design. So we are cooperating with the VHP on tackling this. We will work together to whatever extent possible,’’

The Parishad on its part has started a ‘Hindu Helpline’, which claims to have received as many as 1,500 calls in last three months.

The Kerala Catholic Bishops Council has come out with a set of guidelines for Christian parents warning them to be more careful about their wards.

CPM Leader donot trust common man!

In continuation of CPM Leader and Kerala Home Minister appoints Daughter in Law as her Cook

Sreemathi’s office has defended the appointment and denied any impropriety.

"Twenty-seven people can be appointed in the minister’s personal staff — 24 in office and 3 in the house. Unlike the office, those at home need to be more reliable and that is why Dhanya was chosen. In the past too, ministers have done this and there was no impropriety," said the official statement from her office.

It seems our health minister donot trust common man into her house!!!!. What a fall

Communist Feudal Lords have special rights….

Last Month Motor Vehicles Department put up most-sought-after fancy number for auction. The numbers included KL-01 AW 1, KL-01 AW 9. It seems there is some superstition associated with AW9 and it is highly sought number.

The number KL-01 AW 1, was bought by an industrialist for Rs 7 lakh.

However, KL-01 AW 9 was bought by one Binoy V B for Rs 1,200 . Yes Its one thousand and two hundred. Binoy V B was able to get the number in a song as he was able to drive away seven bidders including film stars Mohanlal and Suresh Gopi and industrialists Balagopal and M.P. Biju, and make sure that his brand new Innova car gets the fancy number

It might be a sheer coincidence that address of Binoy V B, is the same as that of Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s official residence and his elder sons name is also Binoy.
of course some of communist here would say its right of ministers son.,... of course they are the new feudal lords

CPM Led Kerala Govt. Appointment and Promotions

This circular is to announce  last years promotions in Kerala Government

Senior CPM leader and Kerala Health Minister P K Sreemathi daughter-in law Dhanya V Nair  has been promoted to the post of  Minister’s( mother in law) additional personal assistant . She was promoted after her two year glorious service as cook of minister Sreemathi. She is now eligible for pension for rest of her life. This promotion also effects some fringe benefits such as monthly salary the daughter-in-law’s salary has been increased to the scale of 10,790-18,000  from a cook’s scale of Rs 4,300-5,930.

The post was vacated by Jijinth Raj, Sreemathi’s nephew and the son of another senior CPM leader, E P Jayarajan.   Jijinth Raj got a job abroad…..

The minister was not available for comment as she was on an official tour to the Gulf.

Its amusing how CPM who considers themselves as Doyens of women liberation has no qualms appointing their Daughter in law as cook and personal assistant!!!

UPA Austerity Drive: Netas board economy, fly luxury

Pilots of the erstwhile Indian Airlines have blown the lid off the UPA's ongoing austerity drive which has seen ministers and MPs making a proud show of flying economy. In a letter to the airline management, they alleged that ``some'' ministers and MPs insisted on an upgrade — that is seats in business class — after boarding the aircraft on economy tickets.

Some VVIPs, the Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) complained, even ``forcibly occupy seats in J (business) class''.

Shocking Partisan politics by Congress which will threaten the federal system of India!

Centre has given measly sum of Rs 52.26 crore as flood relief to Karnataka which is in stark contrast to the Rs 156.84 crore released for Andhra Pradesh, a state ruled by the Congress.

Floods in Karnataka affected about 15 lakh people involving 15 districts and about 5 lakh people in five districts of Andhra Pradesh. While the toll in Karnataka has already crossed the 200 mark, it’s less than 60 in Andhra. The total loss due to floods is pegged at Rs 16,500 crore while Andhra’s estimates are Rs 12,500 crore.

It’s not the first time the central relief is perceived as step-motherly. Just about two months ago Karnataka sought Rs 2,000 crore for drought relief, but got only Rs 150 crore.

Earlier also Congress at centre had played politics with calamity relief, Last year UPA government asked Bihar to refund of Rs 1,000 crore given to the State by the Centre as relief for Kosi flood victims.

And its just a coincidence that every time this  human being happens to be a Dalit in Uttar Pradesh

Sheer Hypocrisy

Media is celebrating an Indian Origin person getting Nobel price. Nothing wrong in it. We should be proud.

image

but will same media call Sonia Gandhi Italian Origin?

Welcome to Dalit Tourism Sponsored by Congress

After the Congress’ austerity drive, it is now the turn of the party’s Uttar Pradesh Dalit agenda to go down the tokenism route.

In a classic case of political symbolism gone wrong, a swarm of UP leaders descended on Dalit settlements across UP on Gandhi Jayanti in a bid to emulate Gandhi. But, unlike Gandhi, several of his present generation footsoldiers made sure they were not short of any amenities or conveniences. Some netas accompanied by big bands of chelas, went to the extent of hiring their own cooks, bringing food supplies and even disposable plates to dinner.

Kanpur MP and Union minister for coal Shri Prakash Jaiswal had a fun time in Dwarikapuri, a Dalit enclave, what with music, film show, meal rustled by professional caterers, generators and fans that were switched on at midnight when the entire area was plunged into darkness and a water tanker in attendance for the hosts as he turned to the mineral water bottle.

Mosquito nets were put in place for Pramod Tiwari in Pratapgarh,  while thermocol and plastic plates were brought along by Annu Tandon. Also, people were made to wait for commando Kamal Kishore, the Bahraich MP and one-time bodyguard of Rajiv Gandhi, while he was eating dinner elsewhere. When Union minister Pradip Jain reached a Jhansi village after midnight, his supporters woke up every single resident as "mantriji had arrived".

Moradabad MP and former cricketer Azharuddin,  brought his cooks along and had elaborate meals which included chicken biryani and kebabs.  In fact, he snubbed his hosts by rejecting their food and refused to shake hands with the Dalit village elder. Witnesses said when the elder of Khadar village approached him to offer him a poori , the celebrated former batsman refused to allow him near while his supporters jostled him away.

As usual, congress mp’s made sure the the hardship they suffered during sleepover at Dalit homes didnot go unnoticed. Details like house number and villages that the leaders were to visit were announced to media in advance.  Thus ensuring media cameras recorded and relayed their every action .

Former Indian cricket team captain and Moradabad MP Mohammed Azharuddin summed it up when he reportedly told newspersons in Rae Bareilly.

You would not be able to eat what we ate

Karat holds RSS responsible for China threat “Bogey”

Karat’s love for china is no secret but his current rambling has crossed all the boundaries of reason. Of course you can ask question the logic of expecting lo reason from Communists especially when china of the ir folklores is involved.

How can Karat not feel nostalgic when china is celebrating 60th anniversary of rise of communism there . We can also expect some sadness and sense of loss due to lost opportunity of 1962.  He has profoundly expressed his displeasure at rising tensions between India and China.

Writing in an article titled “Chinese Revolution: An Epoch Making Event, he has accused the RSS and the US arms lobby of creating complications in India-China relations. According to him, the increasing china threat perception in India is a bogey being created by RSS and US arms lobby.

There has been a revival of the bogey of the threat from China among sections of the corporate media and strategic experts

He also scoffed at Indias move to increase its much required defense preparedness against China as it may deepen the India US relation. I guess he has got his priorities right, India having any engagement with US is a strict NO NO even if it makes India weak against china.

He has even called for revival strategic partnership with china. I assume he meant Tragic partnership

China stands at Crossroads at 60

This week China is celebrating 60th anniversary of the Communist Party's rise to power. The accompanying military parade showcased its power with 52 items of weapon systems and with 2,00,000 troops marching down Tiananmen square. In these 60 years it has risen from being an impoverished, backward state in 1949, to a nation which commands respect and awe in the world.

In terms of post-World War II military growth, unlike its Asian peers Japan and India, China first concentrated on acquiring military muscle. By the time Deng Xiaoping launched his economic-modernization program, China already had tested its first intercontinental ballistic missile, the 7,460-mile DF-5, and developed thermonuclear weaponry. Then in last 30 years its economy has expanded thirteen fold. Its rapidly swelling foreign-exchange coffers and its state-owned corporate are frenetically buying foreign firms, technologies and resources.  .

In spite of it being fastest growing economy and has the largest standing army, China's future remains more uncertain than ever. It is plagued by poverty, charges of human rights violations and environmental degradations.

Recent social unrest among farmers and workers have been broader in scope, larger in average size, greater in frequency, and more brash than those of a decade ago. Protests are growing in average size from 10 or fewer people in the mid-1990s to about 52 people per incident in 2004. In the first half of 2005, there were over 340 protests involving more than 10,000 people.

China's political system is rife with contradictions. It's an authoritarian one-party state, which boasts that it holds democratic elections at grassroots level. Its cities seem to be an exercise in rampant capitalism, yet its leaders are Communist. It is the oldest autocracy in the world. The longest any autocratic system survived in modern history was 74 years in the Soviet Union. A recent BBC survey showed that top on the minds of the Chinese citizens is a thirst for democracy. Amartya Sen had once famously observed major famines do not occur in democracies. He cited the example of India where famines such as the one in 1943 in British India disappeared with the establishment of democracy. In contrast, China had the largest famine in recorded history during 1958-61, when nearly 30 million people died

While India celebrates diversity, China honors artificially enforced monoculturalism, although it officially comprises 56 nationalities. China seeks not only to play down its ethnic diversity, but also to conceal the cultural and linguistic cleavages among the Han majority, lest the historical north-south fault lines resurface with a vengeance. The Han - split in at least seven linguistically and culturally distinct groups - are anything but homogenous. The greatest genocide in modern world history was not the Holocaust but the Great Leap Forward, a misguided charge toward industrialization that left 36 million people dead, according to "Tombstone," a recent book by longtime Chinese communist Yang Jisheng.

China's internal problems - best symbolized by the 2008 Tibetan uprising and this year's Uighur revolt.

In last 60 years, its relationship with its neighbors has seen several upheavals. It employed brute force to annex Xinjiang (1949) and Tibet (1950), to raid South Korea (1950), to invade India (1962), to initiate a border conflict with the Soviet Union through a military ambush (1969), and to attack Vietnam (1979).

Whether china survives next 40 years will depend on how manages to resolve the stark contradictions and avoid a political hardlanding.

Love Jihad in Israel also but face strict action

After India, UK etc there are signs of Love Jihad in Israel also. but as usual Israelis were quick to react

A local authority in Israel has announced that it is establishing a special team of youth counselors and psychologists whose job it will be to identify young Jewish women who are dating Arab men and “rescue” them.

One member, who identified himself as Moshe to the Jerusalem Post newspaper, said:

“Our goal is to be in contact with these girls and try to explain to them the dangers of what they’re getting themselves into. In the last 10 years, 60 girls from Pisgat Zeev have gone into [Palestinian] villages [in the West Bank]. And most of them aren’t heard from after that.”

The use of Kalawati’s donot extend beyond speeches

The plight of Kalawati Bandurkar, the poor widow whose name was evoked by none other than crown prince Rahul Gandhi is an ideal example of use and throw policy. At one point of time she was the icon of UPA’s nuclear agenda, now she is not even being allowed to stand for an election, primary rught of an Indian citizen!

Kalawati was named to contest the October 13 polls from Wani in Yavatmal district as Vidarbha Janandolan Samiti (VJS) candidate. In fact, so strong was her determination that inspite of bad health she travelled in an ambulance to the office of the returning officer to file her nomination papers.

But now in a dramatic U-turn, she has decided not contest the polls. Her mentor, Kishore Tiwari, president of Vidarbha Jan Andolan Samiti, which has fielded her for the poll says she was pressurized to withdraw from election.

Bindeshwar Pathak, head of the Sulabh International who had committed to deposit Rs 30 lakh in her bank account , wrote to her in a two-page letter asking her in no unclear terms to withdraw from election.

I would like to suggest you that dont take a headlong plunge in politics

As Rahul Gandhi rightly said she do represent million of havenots in india are used and thrown everyday by high priests of India society. I think someone should file a complain against Sulabh head for obstructing democratic rights of an Indian citizen.

I guess the only power which Kalawatis of India can expect is from electricity.

Bomb manufacturing in Kandhamal relief camps

A crude bomb explosion killed one and injured five on Sunday at a relief camp for riot-hit victims in Kandhamal. According to sources, the explosion at Nandagiri relief camp in G. Udayagiri occurred when the deceased was preparing the bomb. The blast occurred at a tent occupied by Patrasen Mallick, a native of Beticola village.

Its amazing how mainstream media has completely blacked out this news!  One can only imagine the hue and cry if it was something else!

AICC is All India Christian Council

There seems to be a shocking trend developing under UPA rule. It seems now in every election Church is demanding seats for its nominees. In Kerala Loksabha election, Thrissur Archdiocese’s with the support of  Kerala Catholic Bishop’s Council (KCBC) demanded that Congress should field Vadakkan as its candidate for Trissur. Inspite of stiff resistance by a section of state Congress leadership (read Hindu) congress agreed to churches demand.  Similarly for the Ernakulam Lok Sabha seat, A letter was reportedly sent by the Varappuzha Archbishop to Congress president Sonia Gandhi recommending Hibi Eden.

In fact, KCBC went a step further by issuing a pastoral letter attacking the CPI(M) and the LDF and asked “believers” not to choose candidates “who impose atheism and politics of violence” or “those who promote the interests of a party or individuals over the interests of the people and the nation”.  Archbishop of the Latin Catholic Church M. Soosa Pakiam told the faithful:

“Our symbol is the Cross. The candidates who are elected should not be those who insult the Church and the Christian faith.”

In a two front state like Kerala, Its a no brainer who the oblivious choice is if we takeout LDF from equation. Churches influence in elections in North East India is a open secret.

Now in Maharashtra elections, For the first time  All India Christian Council, a conglomerate of all Christian denominations has asked a congress to give poll nominations to candidates from the community, and the party has obliged. Its not surprising they approached Sonia Gandhi requesting tickets for Christians. The Congress has accepted two of the council’s nine nominees, both political lightweights. Janet D’Souza has been fielded from Ghatkopar and advocate, Gonsalves from Vasai. The move was lead by Council secretary John Dayal a member of “National Integration Council”

Abraham Mathai, general secretary of the All India Christian Council, whose initials, AICC, are coincidentally the same as those of the All India Congress Committee said

“We had written to Sonia Gandhi early this month asking for deserving representation for Christians in the party’s candidate list, and we are extremely happy,”

As Mathai rightly pointed out Christians are considered fixed deposits for the Congress. Its time to get the interest!

UPA Cavesin on China threat

It does not take long for UPA pendulum to swing from one extreme to other. On austerity, its between three month stay of a  ministers in Taj Man Singh Hotel to train ride of Crown Prince. On China affairs its between  scaring the nation about looming china threat and trying to convince that  China is Bhai Bhai. Never mind in between they have to bear cattle gates or China pokes in ADB.

In a rare and rather unusual development, the ministry of home affairs moved to take legal action against two reporters of The Times of India.- Nirmalya Banerjee and Prabin Kalita for misreporting incidents on India China border. It surprising considering UPA themselves excel in planting misleading stories about their opponents. How can we forget AP CLP using media to spread canard that people were committing suicide due to death of YSR

Even the military leadership was browbeaten to submission, Indian Army Chief was advised to cancel his proposed tour to china. India's Air Force chief went a step further by announcing that Indian air force was just a third the size of China's.

Even the China Study Group meeting called by NSA to discuss the fallout of Chinese incursions into Indian territory has been postponed. Instead, he chastised Media for creating hype.  An Indian proposal to have an airbase in Mongolia appears to have been shelved amid concerns that it could exacerbate tensions with China.

Minister for External Affairs S M Krishna closed the chapter by calling boundary with China most peaceful. Not surprised as he just called Pakistan a friendly country.

Nehru Family First always

Chandrayaan-1Indias maiden lunar mission and represented the aspiration of  a billion Indians, Once near moon it send Moon Impact Probe (MIP) and for first time in history India was able to  reach the lunar surface. One would have expected the spot (Shackleton Crater) where the probe landed to be named after India. But nope….. Its named after Nehru Family!! The spot is now renamed as the Jawahar Point as apparently it was birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru.

Dumb, Dumber, Dumbest Media

Our national media is at it again, feeding gullible mass with incorrect information.

Indian express shouts

Chandrayaan-1 finds water on moon: Report

Times of India reports

Chandrayaan finds water on Moon's surface

NDTV as usual is miles off mark reporting

Chandrayaan discovers water on moon

The fact is the result is due to efforts of  data from three spacecraft that have made close flybys of the moon. Research teams from Brown University, the University of Maryland and the U.S. Geological Survey used spectroscopic measurements taken of the lunar surface by NASA's Cassini and Deep Impact spacecraft, as well as India's Chandrayaan 1 satellite.

From India’s side, credit for this goes to NASAs Moon Minerology Mapper (M3), one of two instruments contributed by NASA to  Chandrayaan-1. M3 is a state-of-the-art imaging spectrometer that will provide the first map of the entire lunar surface at high spatial and spectral resolution, revealing the minerals of which it is made.

Of course, we should be proud of the fact that India’s maiden moon mission was destined to be the means to one of greatest discoveries in the history of space research.

Austerity Drive

I am an austere politician. Since I joined politics, I have never paid for anything.

Austerity Drive

Austerity Drive

Internationally Leftists collude to isolate India

Barely weeks after it failed in its attempt to block Asian Development Bank (ADB) funds to a project in Arunachal Pradesh, China has successfully struck back with the support of new found Ideological partners in Australia and Japan. China won a vote on a “disclosure agreement,” which prevents ADB from formally acknowledging Arunachal Pradesh as part of India. (A disclosure agreement is a formal notification of a project once it’s approved by the ADB Board).

Countries who colluded with China’s to Isolate India are Japan, Australia and a group of other South East Asian countries. The only commonality between the countries which colluded against India is either they have a LEFT government or are Muslim majority.

We are still unsure on views of China sidekicks in India - CPM & CPI. I also wonder how this time our esteemed foreign minister will make light of this serious issue. Surprisingly, UPA government called off high-level meeting to discuss alleged Chinese border intrusions because of differences between the external affairs ministry and the Prime Minister's Office on the one hand and the defense ministry on the other

The external affairs ministry has publicly tried to downplay the reported incursions while defence ministry has pitched for a more assertive approach. Its shocking that even on such an important issue UPA government could not make up its mind well

I guess it might have something to do with current austerity mood in government. This is Austerity in taking decisions

Austerity.. Ya right..Rahul Gandhi’s flying visit to Tamil Nadu cost over Rs.1 crore

It seems the Crown Princes austerity starts and ends in front of TV cameras.  His recent travel bill during his three-day visit down south ran to seven figures, not exactly a sum the word “austerity” conjures up. At about Rs.1.5 lakh an hour for a helicopter, and Rs. 1.1 lakh an hour for the Beechcraft aircraft that Mr. Gandhi used for most of the long haul, his Tamil Nadu darshan would have cost the Indian National Youth Congress over Rs. 1 crore in helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft hire charges

Austerity overdrive

To increase YSR Myth: Congress trades Dead

Inspite of best efforts by Rudali Media and Congress, Investigations has confirmed what sane people across India had suspected all along. Scores of people who had died supposedly of shock following YSR’s tragic death had died of natural causes. Congress had literally bought(yes as in buying)  dead to add to YSR Myth.

In fact Congress effort to spread the lies about the deaths was so elaborate that Congress Legislature Party (CLP) periodically released 'bulletins' on the number of deaths due to heart attacks and suicides to the media, attributing them to Reddy's sad end. And the faithful Rudali media diligently kept feeding the gullible nation!

Local Congress leaders including a state minister paid the families Rs 5,000 for each dead to attribute the death of their loved ones to shock.

It seems it all started with the death of 70-year-old Uppalaiah, a potter from the remote Lakshmipuram village of Parakala mandal. A local Congressman smelling opportunity informed Sakshi television channel, owned by Jaganmohan, that Uppalaiah had died of a heart attack after watching the news of Reddy's death on television. And then everything is history. The cruel fact is Uppalaiah's was desperately poor family who does not own a television set!

Even Chukka Sayamma, an 80-year-old woman died in her sleep was not spared.

Political Humor

Jihad fail!

Its not austerity, its atrocity

I guess the word on the austerity drive of the UPA government has clearly not reached their Cabinet ministers as they only want nothing but the finest. We have  Cabinet Ministers using  spanish wall tiles in their chambers to Italian porcelain in toilets . Some asre busy improving health opf poor organizing five star conferences.

Almost One in every Three babies in the world, who die before they are four weeks old is in India. Also about 47% of children under the age of five in India are malnourished, and around 30% of babies are born underweight. All this moved our honorable Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad so much that he decided to organise a program on Neonatal Health at a five star hotel in Jaipur. The meeting attended by over 180 delegates, was addressed by Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and attended by Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

The cost of hiring a hall in city's Rambagh Palace hotel is about Rs 3 lakhs plus taxes, the cost of lunch there is Rs 1,500 per head plus taxes. if only he could have spend this money on some hospital, it could have save few lives.

Then we have another set of ministers who are determined to make a statement with their office (and toilet) decor. One Minister of State has even demanded a new toilet “on the back side of her seat” in keeping with Vaastu. Common theme with all toilets seems to be “Italian” fittings. Guess Loyalty matters even in affairs of toilet – Mantra is “I think of High command even when I am in toilet”

 1. Udyog Bhawan office of Vilasrao Deshmukh, Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.Estimate: Rs 17.54 lakh.
 2. Udyog Bhawan office of Anand Sharma, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry.Estimate: Rs 14.78 lakh.
 3. Shastri Bhawan office of Jitin Prasada, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas seems to have a weakness of fittings in toilet. He wants All fittings of his toilets to be of Kohler make and Counter of bathroom to be of Italian marble(Damn here also italian…)

People clearly not amused by the fake austerity measures of UPA. No wonder the Amritsar-New Delhi Shatabdi express in which Rahul Gandhi was travelling was stoned near Panipat

As usual Congress is Running with the hare and hunting with the hounds

Dr Singh yesterday told national gathering of police chiefs that Maoist rebels now pose the gravest threat to India's internal security and accepted that his government is losing the battle against Maoist rebels

However, Jharkhand Governor K Sankaranarayanan  who was at one time finance minister in A K Anthony government in Kerala  is making pro-Maoist moves aimed at gaining their support in favor of the Congress for Assembly election.

In a statement branding all police martyrs and political leaders killed by Maoists as corrupt he said

Naxalites do not harm honest police officers

I guess under this governors regime no policeman would dare sacrifice his life fighting maoist as there is a risk that the government will brand him as corrupt.

Congress has come out strongly supporting the Governor, Jharkhand affairs-in-charge of the Congress K. Keshav Rao said

“The governor only meant that rebels don’t harass honest officials unnecessarily. The rebel problem is a socio-economic one and it can be solved through talks. We are ready to talk with rebels here, but they have to lay down their arms first,”

It seems our PM is either totally out of loop from his party or he lying through his teeth.

ie in Hare Congress mode: Anti congress message offensive

image

Readers decide whats offensive in above message

Austerity Measures UPA missing wood for the trees

For entire day yesterday, NDTV headlines centered around austerity drive of congress. The headlines ranged from Sonia Gandhi traveling economy class to austerity lunch of  Mr UN Tharoor. I can understand they ignoring “Man-eating” government in Gujarat snatching four seats from the Congress, winning five out of seven seats. if people of gujarat wants to get eaten by their own givernment its their problem. But how could they ignore our DemiGod Tendulkar’s century which he himself described “as one of his best innings”. I guess for NDTV its a case of grapes gone sour. I think they are now more focusing on film personalities after they lost their bid for telecast rights of IPL II.

At one point I almost expected a commercial break during NDTV news announcing “This part of news is brought to you by congress marketing team”

Anyway what NDTV will not tell you is Sonia Gandhi flying Economy  to Mumbai is only one part of story. The story will be more complete if they tell you the entire expense of Sonia flyging to Mumbai. Add to the expenses, the costs of fares for five rows reserved for the security personnel and the three SUVs flown down to Mumbai by another aircraft at the cost of rupees three lakh. The total expenses of the economy class travel with 15 seats in all were Rs 55,000 compared to the travel in business class with six security personnel at the cost of Rs 62,000. The savings were a mere Rs 7,000.

Never Kick any Ass Pranab learns the hard way

Nature has strange way of getting even with people. How else can you explain the irony of   Union Finance Minister Mr. Pranab Mukharge presenting the ‘FASTEST MOVER AWARD’ in the Law and Order category to Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa.

The award was constituted by India Today Group

I guess he may have never heard the famous corporate mantra for longevity  “Never Kick any Ass you never know when you may have to kiss the same”.

Muthoot Murder UPDATE 3

To be read in continuation of CPM State Secretary & his  S shaped knife theory.

Also UPDATE 1 and UPDATE 2

The Muthoot murder  plot just got thicker. A local television channel got a blacksmith in Alappuzha to say on camera that the 'S'-shaped knife that police recovered from the house of prime accused Kari Sathish had actually been custom-made for the police by him, and that the order to make the knife had been received after IG Vinson M Paul had revealed at a Press conference that an 'S'-shaped knife had been used in the murder.

Earlier, Pinarayi Vijayan held the RSS responsible for the murderas according to him,

"It is the RSS that uses the S-shaped knife for attacks."

Intensifying the plot, the mother of the self-confessed killer, Kari Sathish has alleged that the police had themselves planted the knife at their home, which the police recovered later from their home.

Senior police officials are yet to counter the allegation.

when pictures do not say a thousand words

few weeks back internet was splashed with pictures of President Obama with a wandering eye “checking out”  a delegate from J8 (Junior 8) summit.  Even this blog carried those pictures

It now seems was a motivated campaign by a section of conservative media in US. Please check the tape- the actual video shows a far different story.

Having seen similar campaigns by “secular media” in India, I think its important to clear the air

The C’s that is killing CPM

After intensive study spread over several months, CPM has managed to  pinpoint the ideological and social cause that is afflicting the party cadre to “C”. Yes it is the “C” that is killing the party. No its not the “C” as in communism. It is the “C” as in consumerism, careerism, casteism and capitalism that is bugging and corrupting the young Marxists.

It might be a challenge for CPM to force its cadre to give up gluttonous craving for the bourgeois style of life. After all its only few months since a CPM central committee member in Kerala rubbished suggestions to revive old Spartan lifestyles. He said

“like of yore, you can’t build the party by eating vadas, drinking black and smoking beedis”,

CPM party newspaper in Kerala, Deshabhimani, recently translated the feat of an American eating 68 hotdogs in 10 minutes as the contestant literally eating roasted dogs, not knowing it’s a sausage-sandwich garnished dish served hot.

Is UPA = Ulta Pulta Affidavits

Just like Justice Mukherjee Committee report on Godhra Carnage, S P Tamang report on Ishrat encounter was released with near perfect timing. The Maharashtra state election are looming and as always seculars had Modi on crosshair.

Congress spokesman Manish Tewari as usual spoke from wrong end of the body

"It has become increasingly evident that there is man-eating government in Gujarat"

M Veerappa Moily, The Law Minister told us that Modi  would have been in "some other place" if the fake encounter had taken place in a foreign country. Hope Moily will realize that those countries donot have many Afzal Guru’s enjoying state hospitality while assorted secular Human right activists are fighting his case.

Never mind the fact that as per NHRC data for alleged Fake Encounters 2004-2005: Gujarat has only 5 cases pending, while Congress ruled AP had 21, Maharashtra had 29, Mother of Secular SP ruled UP had 175, and lastly congress ruled National Capital Delhi had 18. Congress ruled  AP recently announced cash rewards ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 12 lakh for killing Naxalites. A total of Rs 16 crore was put on the heads of 1,133 Maoists. Lastly has congress forgot how KPS Gill under their own rule dealt with terrorists “summarily”?

And then it hit them out of blue, all grand plans went awry. Things went so wrong that Mr. Roy of NDTV could not prevent himself from lamenting the fact that the Gujarat government had "dug up" a Home Ministry affidavit that claimed that Ishrat Jahan was indeed a terrorist. Then it was confusion and utter chaos all-round.

For secular print media, Ishrat encounter suddenly moved to page 3, they found more merit in informing the nation the pranks which priyaka plays and likes of NDTV started discussing whether encounter killing are necessary evil? The issue is snowballing into a major controversy between the Home and Law Ministry. Law officer who filed the affidavit got the sack as he was lowest in the food chain. Minor details like affidavit was cleared by then Special Secretary (internal security) Anil Choudhary & was in the knowledge of the then Home Secretary Dhirendra Singh was  got lost in translation.  Also lost in fine print were the facts contained in affidavit about disclosure of Shahid Mehmud, LeT’s chief operational commander in central Kashmir, and his Pakistani associate Zahid Ahmed (arrested in June 2004) to say that Amjad Ali had entered India under instructions from LeT’s boss Muzammil to organise terror networks.

One can only sympathize with Congress predicament of having to explain to nation where they stand? With their home ministry who have certified that Ishrat is a terrorist or with the party or Low opps Law ministry who has been running a strong public campaign that Ishrat's was innocent

In the melee, only causality is fight against terrorism and the innocents who get killed by it. I guess it worthy a sacrifice at the altars of irresponsible political opportunism of congress

Terrorists are non-state combatants using strategies and tactics forbidden  by international humanitarian law. They donot deserve any mercy

Now a “Halal” search engine

Across the world, Muslims can now safely surf the Internet without running the risk of ending up on the wrong side of GOD. Now the have  a Islamic search engine -- ImHalal.com -- that differentiates what material is 'halal' (allowed) and what is 'haram' (forbidden) in Islam.

Search engine gave me a result for murder, I guess that would mean its 'halal' (allowed)

While a search for Love, was not returned as its Haram level of 1 out of 3

Christian council plumps for Jagan

All-India Christian Council has demanded that demanded that YSR son and Kadapa MP Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy be named the next chief minister of the State.

Austerity and Sacrifice Congress Style

For over three months now, External Affairs Minister S M Krishna is at ITC's Maurya on Sardar Patel Marg and his junior Shashi Tharoor at Hotel Taj Mahal on Man Singh Road. Krishna is checked in at the Maurya's Presidential suite on the 16th floor. There is no declared tariff for the four Presidential suites in the hotel which have had guests like US President George W Bush and Bill Clinton. Industry insiders say the room tariff is in the range of Rs 1 lakh plus per night. Tharoor has been staying in a Taj suite and the lowest tariff for suites in the Taj Man Singh is Rs 40,000 per night (executive balcony suite)

  Rate Days Total

S M Krishna

100,000 100 10,000,000
Sashi Taroor 40,000 101 4,040,000
      14,040,000

1.4 Crore for just 100 day stay… Who pays … God Knows

Strange case of Afzal Khan, Afzal Guru and Israt Jahan

Maharashtra is burning, Hindu Idols are being destroyed. Why? Because a welcome arch put up by some communal dimwit depicted Chhatrapati Shivaji killing Bijapur general Afzal Khan. I donot understand why these communal Hinduvadis want to rakeup such dead issues even if it is a well accepted historical fact… If certain section of our population identify with Afzal Khan or Afzal Guru(Damn so confusing…) so be it. We are a secular country, we have to respect sentiments of every section of society afterall we bank on their votes. In fact, India take steps to secularize all our festivals. Any festival like Independence Day, 1971 Victory etc that can hurt sentiments of some sections of society should be banned.

In another case, Ahmedabad metropolitan magistrate S.P. Tamang after one month of  intensive inquiry has released a 240 page handwritten report in which he has concluded that the four alleged terrorists ( Ishrat Jahan, Javed Ghulam Sheikh alias Pranesh Kumar Pillai, Amjad Ali alias Rajkumar Akbar Ali Rana and Jisan Johar Abdul Gani) killed by Gujarat police were not linked to any terror group and their encounter was fake. His herculean task is unparalleled(except for may be Justice Mukherjee report) and has won laurels from all secular fronts. I am sure he would explain to the nation what the two Pakistanis  who were killed along with Israt were doing in India? I guess we can secularly assume that they were here to watch cricket match.  Similarly, I guess mouthpiece of LeT, Ghazwa Times was just being “loudmouth” when they claimed that Ishrat Jahan was their activist. Has Justice Tamang checked about the possibility that some communal Dimwit hacking LeT website and posting the message on their behalf to defame LeT and Ishan. All this still donot explain affidavit of the union ministry of home affairs filed in the Supreme Court which insist that the four had links with the Lashkar-e-Taiba. But then UPA Government affidavits have become like what we say in Kerala Payam Chakku(old Sack) – Not reliable. Some time back they were caught on wroing foot trying to give authentication certification for Lord Ram.

Is China itching for a Border War?

Also read “How china betrayed India several times” and “China encircling India

The recent and ongoing spat between China and India over disputed territories in Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh has flared up further after Chinese troops entered nearly 1.5 kilometers into Indian territory near Mount Gya, recognized as the international border by both India and China. The Chinese soldiers painted “China” in Chinese characters with red spray paint all over the boulders and rocks. This incident comes weeks after Chinese helicopters entered into Indian air space along Damchok area and Trig Heights in Ladakh and air dropped canned food containing frozen pork and brinjal, which had passed the expiry date.

In international arena, China for first time tried to influence the territorial dispute through a multilateral institution when they tried to block a 2.9 billion dollar Asian Development Bank (ADB) loan to India on the grounds that part of the loan was destined for water projects in Arunachal Pradesh. They also led the botched attempt to stymie the U.S.-India nuclear deal by blocking the Nuclear Suppliers Group from opening civilian nuclear trade with New Delhi. More recently, there were reports of China trying to undermine the Indian brand through export of fake pharmaceutical products labeled “Made in India.”

This hardening of Chinese stance toward India started three years ago when the Chinese ambassador to India publicly raked up the issue of Arunachal Pradesh. Since then, the Indian army has seen Chinese military incursions increase in frequency across the post-1962 line of control. According to Indian defense officials, there were 270 line-of-control violations by the People’s Liberation Army and 2,285 instances of “aggressive border patrolling” by it last year alone. Other border incidents also are being reported, such as the PLA demolition of some unmanned Indian forward posts at the Tibet-Bhutan-Sikkim trijunction and Chinese attempts to encroach on Indian-held land in Ladakh.

All this makes one wonder what is china upto?

Is China trying to divert attention from its domestics issues?

In the past few years, growing disparities of income, official corruption, and the lack of democratic institutions is  fueling social unrest in China.  Often-understated government figures give an indication of the extent of growing social unrest in China. A recent Ministry of Public Security report says there were 8,700 “mass incidents” in 1993; 32,000 in 1999; 50,000 in 2002;  58,000 in 2003 and 87,000 in 2005.

Although political observers have described social unrest among farmers and workers since the early 1990s, recent protest activities have been broader in scope, larger in average size, greater in frequency, and more brash than those of a decade ago. Protests are growing in average size from 10 or fewer people in the mid-1990s to about 52 people per incident in 2004. In the first half of 2005, there were over 340 protests involving more than 10,000 people.

Zhou Tianyong, a researcher at the Central Party School in Beijing, wrote in the China Economic Times

“The redistribution of wealth through theft and robbery could dramatically increase and menaces to social stability will grow. This is extremely likely to create a reactive situation of mass-scale social turmoil,"

The rioting in Xinjiang Autonomous Region on July 5 was the worst in the history of the People’s Republic of China and cost the lives of 197 Han Chinese and Uyghurs. It was the greatest loss of life since the end of the Cultural Revolution in 1976. The situation became so worse that Hu Jintao peremptorily left the G8 meeting in L’Aquila, Italy, on July 9 to take personal control of the situation. This was a serious loss of face for the President of China in the eyes of the world’s public.

A public opinion poll released by a research center affiliated with the prestigious Chinese Academy of Social Sciences found that 91 percent of respondents said the justice system was unfair while 80 percent said they wanted to elect their officials directly. A majority said the party Congress should focus on improving social welfare and job creation and should adopt new political reforms.

The growing internal unrest is making Beijing jittery.

Although the Communist Party has increased membership to 64 million, the party is losing its grassroots appeal in rural areas where local officials’ corruption has bred resistance. The party is also losing popularity in industrial centers. According to party journals, only 17 percent of private firms employed party members in 1999 and only 3 percent had any kind of party organization. But even where the party has managed to gain a foothold in foreign and private enterprises, its role is far less important. In urban China, party activities may be confined to government institutions and departments where party membership remains a prerequisite for advancement.

As the orthodox ideology waned drastically, if not completely, in Chinese political life and the Chinese lost their confidence in communism and Marxism, the leadership found that they had little alternative but to cultivate national pride and patriotism to hold the country together.  Patriotism was designed to counteract regional decentralization, to divert attention from inequalities such as the unequal distribution of wealth, to suppress democratic movements in China and to shift public attention from domestic social unrest to international problems.

After the Tiananmen crisis, the Chinese government preached patriotism under the slogan of "Renewing China". Beijing pursued a campaign of patriotic education focusing on China's humiliating past to arouse awareness of suffering. In 1990 Chinese government incited anti-West patriotism through two commemorations: the May 4th Movement and the 150th anniversary of the Opium War.

Hu Jintao’s pragmatic, non-ideological agenda has two core values—maintaining social stability to further economic development and sustaining Chinese culture to enrich national sovereignty. The current spike in social unrest (especially in Xinjiang) seriously undermines Hu Jintao policies thus jeopardizing his position in party. The leadership in communist party may be tempted to use a brief border war with India to divert the attention of its population from growing unrest in China and strengthen its grip on society & party.

A window of opportunity

The new government in Japan and US has given China a window of opportunity to  settle its border row with India.

India’s growing strategic ties with the United States are more than offset by America’s own rising interdependence with China, to the extent that U.S. policy now gives Beijing a pass on its human-rights abuses, frenetic military buildup at home and reckless strategic opportunism abroad. America’s Asia policy is no longer guided by an overarching geopolitical framework as it had been under President George W. Bush, a fact reflected by the Obama administration’s silence on the China-India border tensions.

In addition, the significant improvement in China’s own relations with Taiwan and Japan since last year has given Beijing more space against India. A third factor is the weakening of China’s Pakistan card against India. Pakistan’s descent into chaos has robbed China of its premier surrogate instrument against India, necessitating the exercise of direct pressure.

We are at Critical Juncture of History

Like in the pre-1962 war period, India is again now at a critical juncture , it has become commonplace internationally to speak of India and China in the same breadth. The aim of “Mao’s India war,” as Harvard scholar Roderick MacFarquhar has called it, was large political: To cut India to size by demolishing what it represented — a democratic alternative to the Chinese autocracy. The swiftness and force with which Mao Zedong defeated India helped discredit the Indian model, boost China’s international image and consolidate Mao’s internal power. The return of the China-India pairing decades later is something Beijing viscerally detests.

China never thought India as an important trade partner or rival until now. China’s attitude towards India has always been contemptuous. When talking about Indian to Chinese people(Shanghaiese in particular), they will probably tell you that 70 years ago, Indians were working as doormen in Shanghai. A recently declassified letter (March 2, 1973), from Henry Kissinger to Richard Nixon, showcases the utter contempt Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai had for the Indian leadership. Kissinger says, inter alia,

“In South Asia, the Chinese believe India remains Moscow’s principal agent; their distrust of New Delhi remains as potent as ever... Chou (Zhou) displayed a particular contempt for the Indians and a personal dislike for Indian leaders. He related several cynical and disdainful anecdotes about Prime Ministers Nehru and Gandhi.... In response, I said that we would go slow in any improvement of relations with New Delhi and would keep the PRC informed.”

Things are certainly changing now when China realized that the competition from India is real and serious. India is claiming to switch their focus from back office service to manufactory; Indian has English language advantage over China; Chinese Yuan is forced to appreciate against US dollar, etc.

Attacks on India in the Chinese media is increasing per day

The People’s Daily and the Global Times, both working under the close watch of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), have recently made derogatory comments on a purely internal Indian affair, the restructuring of its defense forces in Arunachal Pradesh.

On June 11, the Global Times wrote:

“But India can’t actually compete with China in a number of areas, like international influence, overall national power and economic scale. India apparently has not yet realized this. India is frustrated that China’s rise has captured much of the world’s attention.”

A week later, in an editorial the Communist Party’s mouthpiece Peoples’ Daily, Li Hongmei stated:

Many Indians actually have very subtle impressions (sic) upon China, which has been translated into a very complicated mindset - awe, vexation, envy and jealousy - in the face of its giant neighbor. The reason for this mentality is multi-faceted, and brought about by both historical factors and reality. In 1947, when India freed itself from the British colonization and won independence, it was one of the global industrial powers, ranking Top 10 in the world and far ahead of the then backward China. But today, China’s GDP has tripled that of India and per capita income doubled, which turns out to be a totally unacceptable fact to many Indians. And with China’s galloping economic growth since its adoption of the reform and opening up policy in the late 1970s, the wealth gap between China and India has increasingly widened.”

Under these scenarios, Chinese will always attempt to cut India down to size and create hurdles in its global ambitions. A recent suggestion from a Chinese think-tank that India should be broken up into smaller states also falls under this strategy.

Against this background, It is just a matter of not if but when Beijing actually sets out to teach India “the final lesson” by launching a 1962-style surprise war. If India is not to be caught napping again, it has to inject greater realism into its China policy.

Dumb, Dumber, Dumbest Rudali Media

It seems YSR’s sudden demise has seriously effected the intelligence and common sense of Indian Media. Some of the news they have been disseminating is bordering to absurdity! Or is it media is playing the role of Rudalis to create an icon for congress.

Dumbest of the pack is The Times of India with their outrageous claim that  67 YSR fans has died of shock.  According to TOI

More than 60 people across Andhra Pradesh have died of shock or committed suicide after the death of their chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, prompting his MP son Y S Jaganmohan Reddy to appeal to his late father's admirers to be patient and brave.

Would TOI please enlighten us how this data was authenticated? Whats the source of this data? In the hustle bustle of making money from dead, TOI may have forget following

Crude Death Rate of AP is 7.4/1000 and out of which Cardiovascular diseases is the leading causes of mortality, responsible for 33% of all deaths. That essentially means that AP with a Population of  76,210,007, every day more that 500 People die due to Cardiovascular diseases. I guess TOI  is assuming anyone who died due to heart attack on the day YSR died would be due to shock!

When it comes to covering Sob stories how can undie TV be left behind. One of their top honchos(not to be confused by Ghonchus) flew in a helicopter to show the viewers the aerial route that YSR's ill-fated flight had taken. The news unfolded something like below

Honcho(shouting on top of his voice to be heard) : “We are now on top of thick forest one can only imagine the difficulty on that illfateful night”. Camera pans down and shows recently harvested paddy fields. After some time they just gave up and started showing some old footage

Another  reporter belatedly told us

“YSR started his political career here, he knows this place like back of his hand... if anyone can survive in there it is YSR”

(errr... did YSR start his career in Jungle)

Then a famous congress leader comes for interview. she played her role very well with a long face.

Myself and YSR had a colourful past(i guess she meant chequered) ... We both were very frank with each other(she meant used to fight a lot)

Its only Indian media which can create a comedy even out of a tragedy

UPDATE:

It seems the death toll is now increasing by hour. Not to be outdone, CNN IBN played the Gladiator tune in background while reporting the death of YSR. They are now leading the race of reporting highest death toll due to death of YSR. According to IBN,

As many as 122 people across Andhra Pradesh reportedly died of shock or committed suicide after the death of Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, prompting his MP son YS Jaganmohan Reddy to appeal to the people to be stoic and brave.

if you would notice the text  for both IBN and Times of India report is same except for number of deads.  Our sources in media is telling us that by tomorrow we are expecting the death toll to cross the death toll due to Tsunami.

900 girls have gone missing in Kerala

To be read in continuation to jihadis luring Kerala college girls

According to a confidential report by the Kerala police's intelligence wing, approximately 920 girls have gone missing in the last year.

The matter came to light when two MBA students from Pathanamthitta district in Kerala went missing and were later located at a religious centre in north Kerala. The women were said to be involved in relationships with senior students and planned to convert to another religion.

Police sources claimed the men belonged to a controversial organisation, which is constantly monitored by state intelligence agencies.

Many of the women who have gone missing in the last year hail from affluent families.

Muthoot murder - UPDATE

To be read in continuation of  THIS

It is now learnt that most of the members of the Changanassery- based quotation gang, who are now behind bars in connection with the Paul Muthoot murder case, had close connections with the CPM and the DYFI units in the area. Alleging that Binu, Sujith, Sathar, Shino Paul and Akash of the gang were CPM activists,.

Kari Satheesh, the first accused in the case was an active member of the DYFI and was a member of the outfit since 1999. Vilasini, Satheesh’s mother, was a member of the KSKTU, the farm workers’ outfit of the CPM, since 1997. The entire household of Satheesh is a Communist family.

Its amusing that even before the autopsy report of the deceased came out and before the arrest of the so-called prime accused

Damn the lateral entrants

It seems that “lateral entrants” to BJP are primary cause for sparking the bush fires it is now trying to douse. BJP should pick such leaders who donot come thru Sangh Parviar “judiciously” and even if they pick up such leaders they should be put  on long probation before rewarding them with power and perks.

Jaswant Singh who is now highly critical about BJP, Parivar and Advani every post except that of Prime Minister and BJP president. Kulkarni might well have been Advani’s principal secretary had he become Prime Minister. But after joining Mamata Banerjee, he realised he had deep ideological differences with parivar. Yashwant Sinha, who came to the BJP from Chandra Shekhar’s SJP in 1993 is another case of how an “ideological turncoat” had skimmed off the cream of power and pelf. Arun Shourie also falls into same category to certain degree.

Jaswant Singh hangs on to PAC shamelessly

Jaswant Singh has refused to quit the post of  chairman of the Public Accounts Committee even after BJP explicitly asked him to vacate this position.  The PAC, which is constituted every year, examines accounts showing the appropriation of sums granted by Parliament for the government’s expenditure and scrutinizes the annual finance accounts. These posts are decided by consensus and has been with the opposition party as a matter of tradition

One can understand his reluctance as PAC chairperson gets an office in Parliament building and a staff, among other perks, just like Leaders of Opposition in both Houses of Parliament. Earlier, Singh, who was Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha till he got elected to the Lok Sabha from Darjeeling, was unwilling to vacate his office in Parliament, making the issue a talking point in the party.

Jihadis luring Kerala college girls for love

To be read in continuation of Love Jihad & UK police to protect girls forced to convert to Islam

Kerala police has constituted a special team to probe charges that jihadis are running an organized racket in the state's colleges to lure gullible girls in the name of love and then convert them for subsequent use in anti-national activities. What jolted the sleuths into action was a habeus corpus petition in the Kerala high court from the parents of two MBA students.  In one such an incident, two of the girls eloped with a guy. In the period they were with him, one of them had already married the boy and the other was "forced to marry'' his friend, a bus conductor. In their statements given to police, the students claimed that they were shown jihadi videos and literature by the boy. Expressing concern over the development, the high court asked the police to probe deeper.

The principal said

"When we searched the hostel, we found provocative literature given by the boy from the rooms of the two girls,'' .

This was seized by the police who have now extended the probe to other campuses as well they feel this was not an isolated incident. Similar reports have been emerging for quite some time now but were mostly ignored for political reasons, police sources added.

A shocking protest in malaysia

image

In Malaysia, A group of Malay-Muslim protesters came with a shocking protest to pressurize state government to stop the construction of a Hindu Temple near to their neighborhood.

They marched with a severed head of cow (the symbolism is not lost) amid chants of "Allahuakbar," and then left the severed head of a cow at the entrance of the State Secretariat here as a warning to Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.

My apologies for gore picture, I have tried to make it more sane.

Manohar Parrikar: Is he the new BJP President?

Parrikar, 54, is said to be the most eligible for the job. He can bring a generational change in the BJP. The IIT-Mumbai graduate also scores very high on personal integrity, is committed to the ideology, has never figured in any controversy, and isn’t part of any faction

Sangh comes out stronger post Jinnah controversy

Olive Schreiner  (South African Writer, 1855-1920) has famously said

“Everything has two sides - the outside that is ridiculous, and the inside that is solemn”

Its only a fortnight since Jinnah controversy hit BJP unexpectedly causing unprecedented organizational havoc and confusion. Things came to such an impasse that RSS Sarsanghchalak himself had to step in to calm things down.

One can argue that BJP has been badly bruised from this mêlée and it will take a long time for it regain its original sheen. but as olive rightly said, there are two sides of every issue. If we take a dispassionate view of things Sangh has actually emerged stronger from this entire affair.

BJP finds its ideological mooring

Any political organization is alike a chariot, Ideology is charioteer and organization is the carriage. From time to time, chariot may slowdown as carriage would need maintenance but as long as charioteer is clear about its path, the organisation will be back on road towards destination in no time. Problem occurs when there are multiple charioteers driving the chariot in different directions. BJP by design or chance was in a situation of being driven by multiple charioteers who had no common ideology except may be lust of power. This incident has helped organisation to sideline elements who donot adhere & conform to party ideology.  With a decisive move, BJP has managed to bring in an generation change. Any loss due to this will be temporary. As sarsanghchalak narrated

Any party that has workers who have tears in their eyes fopr its wellbeing cannot decline, it will even rise from ashes

Congress the unintended victim

Whether congress has realised it or not, Congress is also an unintended causality from this episode. Till date with the support of “friendly historians”, congress had shielded themselves behind “Jinnah is sole culprit” facade. But now country is asking & analyzing uncomfortable question about the role congress leaders played in events which lead to partition of country. Now it appears that Nehru is also not above blame.

It is also becoming clear that once upon a RSS was not untouchable within congress. RSS had sympathies & support of Sardar Patel and several other prominent leaders within congress.

RSS wins laurels

People now have much fairer view of RSS & how it functions. They themselves perhaps for first time saw on live television how RSS lives by what it profess. Its leadership has won laurels(even grudgingly from secular media) by the way it is handling this episode. RSS is suddenly talk of town. This can only bring more goodwill for the organisation and make it further stronger

What is China upto?

Coming weeks after Google publishing modified maps of India, Chinese helicopters entered into Indian air space along Damchok area and Trig Heights in Ladakh and air dropped canned food containing frozen pork and brinjal, which had passed the expiry date.

In the 1950s, a number of maps of the Indo-Chinese border started circulating in China and appearing in sections of the Chinese media. The Indian intelligence rightly brought these to the notice of Jawaharlal Nehru, the then Prime Minister, who took up the matter with Chou En-lai, his Chinese counterpart. He assured Nehru that these maps were circulated by private individuals and had been prepared by the Taiwanese before 1949. He told Nehru that India should not worry about them. Nehru was shocked before the 1962 war when the Chinese used the very same maps, which Chou had described as not official, for claiming large parts of Indian territory and occupying much of it. Today, it is on the basis of the very same maps which the Chinese portrayed as not official that they are claiming Arunachal Pradesh as Chinese territory.

I really hope unlike Nehru, this government is keeping a very close eye on Chinese activities.
