The great resignation drama akin to lipstick on pig

As the body count from Mumbai carnage pile up, As nation realize in shoock that Maharastra Govt. was forewarned even 24 Hrs before the incident, As nation watches in its MzA5MTU2_largehorror the insensitiveness and casual attitude of ministers responding to the tragedy, the UPA has started another round of drama. This is the great resignation drama.

First to roll was Mr. Shivraj Patil - the best HM we could have gifted to our enemy. Shivraj Patil who presided over countless terrorists attacks suddenly found his moral bearings and resigned. There is even a rumor that he resigned because he ran out of dresses to change. Afterall, there is only so many dresses one can afford in a ministers salary. Its only a month back he was in his combative best saying

People say I am very soft on terror—what do they mean? Should I go on shouting about the matter?

Next in line was Mr. R R Patil. Government had no choice but to seek his resignation or isolation as he was contaminated with "foot in mouth disease". The disease causes people to say outrageous things at most inappropriate times. Patil was caught on the camera  saying,

"Itne bade shahar me ekhada hadsa ho jata hai" (An untoward incident like this can happen in such a big city like Mumbai).

The Maharashtra Chief Minister is also expected to resign. He is making a lateral career move to Bollywood. He along with Ram Gopal Verma and his son Rithesh Deshmukh is making a movie called "Taj Mein Aag". Its expected to be a super duper hit. In fact its rumored that RGV even visited the battle ravaged Taj to get a rough idea of set he has erect for his movie.

The resignations have caught the usually stern English media in a frenzy, I saw a frenzied Srinivasan Jain of NDTV asking "First time in history of India both CM and HM of a state has resigned over an incident. Can BJP even dream of it". My question to him would have been "what else could have they done?"

The spate of resignations from ministers hold no significance for the nation. It might have worked if done after second or third blast. Now nation wants action and sadly thats what is missing.

The current actions of UPA is akin to putting lipstick on a pig.
