Meredith Whitney is the lady whose research note on Citigroup in late October triggered a $369bn sell-off in global e
quities.
She even received death threats last year for this. She has again dramatically reduced her forecast for the Citibank this year, giving warning that the shares could fall by more than a third.
In an investor note , Ms Whitney has cut her earnings per share estimates for 2008 from $2.70 to only 75 cents and said that these revised estimates "could still prove optimistic"
I was always amazed at the Guts of this lovely lady. I guess being married to former World Wrestling Entertainment champion Death Mask has its advantages ;)
