This time Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao gets a shoe

Wen was nearing the end of his address on global economy when the man stood up, blew a whistle and shouted: "How can the university prostitute itself with this dictator? How can you listen to these lies?"

He then took off his shoe and threw it at the stage missing Wen by a few feet.

"Stand up and protest, you're not challenging him," he shouted in "European accent" before being bundled out of the room, the Times said.

Olympic Torch Gets a "CarPark" sendoff in Japan

It was supposed to all start with a gala send-off at one of Japan's most venerable and majestic Buddhist temples, the 1,400-year-old Zenkoji.

However, Zenkoji Withdrew at the last moment citing security concerns and unease among its monks and supporters over China's treatment of their fellow Buddhists in Tibet.

Adding insult to injury, Zenkoji announced Tuesday that it will co-host a prayer ritual for Tibet on the morning of the relay.

Zenkoji's sudden about face forced organizers to conduct a last-minute search for an alternate site. On such short notice, they found only a vacant lot in a Carpark!

The result the Beijing Olympic torch made its Japan debut in a parking lot.

Soha Ali Khan quits Olympic torch relay

Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan on Tuesday said that she will not be a part of the Olympic torch relay in New Delhi this week for "strong personal reasons."

"I fully support the Olympic relay and am saddened at the disruptions in its path in various parts of the world as well as the violence in Tibet. But I can't run due to strong personal reasons," Soha, who was initially a part of the relay with actor brother Saif Ali Khan and Rang de Basantico-star Aamir Khan, told reporters in Mumbai.

After the decline of Indian soccer star Baichung Bhutia to Carry Olypic Torch, the Self Styled Human Rights Activist Aamir Khan is under considerable pressure to skip Olympic torch relay.

Typical Bollywood Style Aamir has given a spin on his decision to carry the Torch notwithstanding the Demands.

According to him,

he will run

“...not in support of China... but with a prayer in my heart for the people of Tibet...”

“I request those of you who have asked me to stay away from the Olympic Torch Relay to understand that when I do run with the torch on the 17th of April, it is not in support of China. In fact, it will be with a prayer in my heart for the people of Tibet, and indeed for all people across the world who are victims of human rights violations,”

He also had a piece of advice for the Human Right Activists

“In fact, if we were to try and find on this planet a place to hold the Olympic Games where the government of that place has not been responsible for human rights violations (in one way or the other), then I suspect that we would be left with very few options, if any at all,”

Baichung Bhutia refuses to carry Olympic torch

Indian football captain Baichung Bhutia has refused to run with the flame when it reaches New Delhi on April 17.

Bhutia faxed his decision to the Indian Olympic Association on Monday after he had been chosen for the honour of carrying the Olympic torch on the India leg of its journey.
Talking to TOI , Bhutia, a Buddhist, said,

‘‘I sympathize with the Tibetan cause. I have many friends in Sikkim who follow Buddhism. This is my way of standing by the people of Tibet and their struggle. I abhor violence in any form.’’
