Has our Foreign Minister lost his bearings?

Mukherjee said in a statement today

“We have never given up on the demand that perpetrators of the terror acts should be handed over to India,”

“There is no question of that we have given up that demand or we have climbed down.”

Its only yesterday, The minister told Aaj Tak television channel that India would accept Pakistan putting Mumbai attack suspects on trial provided that the legal process was “transparent.”

Where do their loyalties lie?

The CM Achuthanandan is being severely criticized for his delay in offering condolences to the bereaved family of  slain NSG commando Major Sandeep  who hail from Kerala.
Stung by the criticism Achuthanandan, accompanied by home minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, had rushed to the city on Sunday. However, The anger against the fake morality boiled over with slain NSG commando's Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan's father literally shooing away Kerala chief minister V S Achuthanandan and shouted at him to leave at once.
There is no surprise in the actions of Achu Mama afterall the loyalties of CPM lies on the other side..

In Delhi, Politics is a good career option

Politics seems to be the best career option which gives maximum return of investment.

According to Delhi Election Watch, an independent citizen body the last five years have yielded rich monetary gains for most of the sitting MLAs contesting this year's Delhi Assembly elections with the legislators declaring an average of more than double the monetary value of assets recorded in 2003.

Key among them being:-

  1. The highest increase in assets has been attained by BSP candidate from Patparganj, Madan Singh, whose wealth has jumped 12 times at 1,237 per cent. However, he is not a sitting MLA.
  2. Congress's Barkha Singh from R K Puram constituency, whose declared assets reveal a 1,002 per cent increase in their assets
  3. Timarpur's Congress MLA Surinder Pal Singh, whose wealth has jumped by close to 10 times at 972 per cent.
  4. Transport Minister Harun Yusuf, who is seeking a fourth term from the Ballimaran constituency has quadrupled his wealth at 482 per cent
  5. BJP's Jagdish Mukhi from Janakpuri has registered a 412 per cent jump

Soha Ali Khan quits Olympic torch relay

Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan on Tuesday said that she will not be a part of the Olympic torch relay in New Delhi this week for "strong personal reasons."

"I fully support the Olympic relay and am saddened at the disruptions in its path in various parts of the world as well as the violence in Tibet. But I can't run due to strong personal reasons," Soha, who was initially a part of the relay with actor brother Saif Ali Khan and Rang de Basantico-star Aamir Khan, told reporters in Mumbai.

Priyanka Pulls out a Ace from here sleeves

r Last month, Nalini Sriharan (one of the conspirators in her father Rajiv Gandhi's assassination) had an unexpected visitor, Priyanka Vadra. According to Priyanka,

"It is true that I met Nalini Sriharan in Vellore central jail on March 19, 2008. It was my way of coming to peace with the violence and loss that I have experienced,"

She also added

"I do not believe in anger, hatred and violence and I refuse to allow these things to overpower my life,"

As expected the private channels in india went into a frenzy on the magnanimous Gesture from Priyanka giving her much needed airtime

Was it just coincidence that around the same time, out of Blue Arjun Singh and assorted sycophants reopened the discussion on "who should be the next PM?".

Was it just a coincidence an Election is Horizon?

May be we are reading too much into it, It may be just another case of "Inner Voice Speaking".

Aamir Khan should Walk the Talk....

AAmir khan who prides himself to be the torch bearer for Human Rights would be bearing another torch. He is going to don the role of a torch bearer for the Olympic Torch relay in Delhi next month. Among the prominent personalities likely to join the run are actress Soha Ali Khan, sport star Leander Paes and former policewoman Kiran Bedi.

Hopefully AAmir Khan would use the same "moral yard Stick" on the issue of Olympic Torch/Tibet and Boycott this event to express solidarity with the Tibetan struggle for freedom from China.

WE SHALL NOT BE COWED DOWN!

Today China threatened that it will not allow Olympic torch to passes through New Delhi next month if  "if security is not foolproof ". I guess they were referring to the Tibetian protests in India supporting the Uprising in Tibet. The Olympic flame represents the basic spiritual significance of the Olympic Movement and it would be outrageous even to suggest that china would use this symbol to Armtwist India into submission!

China needs to realise and accept the fact that India is NOT china. We are worlds largest Democracy and our citizens enjoy their fundamentals rights provided by Constitution of India. it is the "Basic Right" of people here to protest and it would be outrageous for china to even suggest how we should be treating our citizens.

After the betrayal of 1962, China has using every opportunity to block india's rise on World Stage whether its proposed East Asia Summit(EAS)  or Permanent Place in UN Security council! In case of EAS, China strongly disapproved of India's inclusion into the proposed. In fact so much so that, In early 2005, Beijing dispatched diplomats to Laos (then “country convener for India” within the ASEAN regional grouping) and other Southeast Asian countries to dissuade them from lobbying for India's Membership(albeit unsuccessfully).  Having failed to keep India, Australia and New Zealand out of the EAS, the Chinese Foreign Ministry then came up with another proposal to keep them down. On the eve of the summit, Beijing proposed that the existing ASEAN Plus Three (APT), and not the new 16-member EAS, should be in the driver’s seat for the formation of a future community-building exercise. After arriving in Kuala Lumpur for the summit, Premier Wen Jiabao insisted that

“[t]he East Asian Summit should respect the desires of East Asian countries and should be led only by East Asian countries.”

In case of India's effort to get permanent place in UN Security Council, China gave leadership to the group opposing it! They conveniently forgot a historic debt China owes India. China managed a seat in the Security Council only because India, when invited to join the Security Council in 1955, declined in favor of its bigger neighbor.

India's then prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru wrote in a letter to the country's top political leaders – explaining why he supported Beijing

"The first step to be taken is for China to take her rightful place, and then the question of India might be discussed separately,"

Chinas efforts to undermine India does not stop with here. In last several years, they have been arming Pakistan thru Missile and Nuclear technology to Keep India Bogged down in South Asia. not only Pakistan and—since 2005— Bangladesh that is being gifted nuclear teeth courtesy Beijing. In Burma, Apart from their listening post in Coco Islands, Beijing is developing the Sittwe port as a safe harbour both its merchant men as well as its battle ships. There are also reports—as yet unconfirmed—of a PRC electronic listening post in one of the Maldivian Atolls. It is more shocking iof we consider the fact that  during the recent Tibetian unrest China stationed forces on the Nepalese side of the border with Tibet last week, in order to keep tabs on protests by Tibetans in Nepal !

Inspite of these Overwhelming Evidences on China's designs,  our SHAMELESS and SPINELESS UPA Government has taken a position subservient to China!

When the entire democratic world condemned harsh Chinese crackdown on legitimate Tibetan protests in Lhasa, the best Indian Government could come up was an expression of  “distress” over the “unsettled situation and violence” in Tibet and wanted the causes of trouble in the “autonomous region” of China to be resolved through dialogue and non-violent means.

Now it appears that the Vice President of India also have to take permission from China to meet a Person Staying in India!!  Earlier there were some rumors that  Vice President Hamid Ansari is set to meet the Dalai Lama, India’s “honoured guest”, when he visits New Delhi! However, GOI rushed in clarified that Vice President Hamid Ansari had no plans to meet the Dalai Lama!

More shameful is the action fo Chinese stooges in India Namely CPM and CPI! They even refused to utter a word against china. In fact, When Parties here should be worried of China Encircling India, The communist were more Worried about US using India to Encircle China! To counter this, Mr Karat Said

“We shall not rest in our fight till strategic ties with the US are snapped.”

The Citizens of this nation has lost all their hope from this Moth Eaten edifice called UPA Government!  The patriotic Citizens of this nation should RISE and PROTEST! Let the thunder of protest shake the foundation of this Spineless UPA Government. Our fury should make the fifth columnist Shiver with fear ! Lets the foes think twice before they threaten our nation next time!

WE SHALL THUNDER "WE SHALL NOT BE COWED DOWN"

Like Kerala, USSR Commies also had closet Christians

Mikhail Gorbachev, the last Communist leader who oversaw the collapse of the Soviet Union, has admitted for the first time that he is a Christian.  The Communist leader was quoted as saying.

“St Francis is, for me, the alter Christus, the other Christ. His story fascinates me and has played a fundamental role in my life. It was through St Francis that I arrived at the Church, so it was important that I came to visit his tomb.  I feel very emotional to be here at such an important place not only for the Catholic faith, but for all humanity,”

This interesting considering the long held belief that it was "Coke and Pope" who were primarily responsible for Downfall of USSR!

Congress have learnt nothing and forgot nothing

French diplomat Tallyrand's scathing criticism of the Bourbons - "they have learnt nothing and forgot nothing" - is being particularly apt for the ruling party at the Centre. In 2005, it was Jarkhand, In 2006  it was Bihar, Now it is Congress's "misadventure" in Meghalaya, where D D Lapang was sworn-in as CM but could not face a trust vote, paving the way for an NCP-led alliance to wrest the mantle.

This is the fourth instance since UPA came to power,  Raj Bhawans being used blatantly for manipulating government formation.  Not only has Congress learnt nothing from its previous experiences, it does not seem to be shamed by the embarrassment that it has repeatedly faced

This also the second successive setback to the Congress in the northeast. Not too long ago, the Congress high command was persuaded of the merits of placing Nagaland under central rule only to see the ousted regime of Neiphiu Rio come back to power through a popular election.

Every Indian has right to settle anywhere: SC

The Supreme Court asserted that every Indian has the right to settle anywhere in the country.

A Bench of Justices H K Sema and Markandey Katju remarked.

"India is not an association or confederation of states, it is a union of states and there is only one nationality that is Indian. Hence every Indian has right to go anywhere in India, to settle anywhere, and work and do business of his choice in any part of India peacefully," The apex court deplored the growing tendency of some sections in indulging in violence on issues that they differed on.

The Bench said

"We are one nation and must respect each other and should have tolerance," .

Quoting Tamil poet Subramaniam Bharti, the apex court said

"this Bharat Mata has crores of faces! But her body is one. She speaks 18 languages! But her thought is one."

Are political parties listening? Can we start this from Jammu and Kashmir?

Indo-Italian Sonia Gandhi, Longest serving Congress Chief

March 14, 1998, was the day the Congress had, through a “constitutional coup”, ousted Kesri as its 60th president and anointed Indo-Italian Sonia Gandhi, flagging off a new era for the then 113-year-old party. Now, Sonia has the  unique distinction of becoming the longest serving Congress president. Even Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi did not have the privilege of holding the post for 10 years at a stretch.

There is a interesting story about how Sita Ram Kesri was Ousted in a classic "coup" so typical of congress.  The ailing Kesri  had arrived at the Congress Working Committee meeting at 24 Akbar Road convinced that a party president could not be forced out. He did not know that before the 11am meeting, most CWC members had gathered at Pranab Mukherjee’s home to endorse two crucial statements. The first was an ultimatum asking Kesri to step down; the second a resolution replacing him with Sonia. As soon as Kesri stepped into the hall he could sense the mood: loyalist Tariq Anwar was the only one who stood up to greet him.

As Kesri sat cross-legged, Pranab began reading out a resolution “thanking” him for his services and invoking clause J of article 19 of the Congress constitution. A dumbstruck Kesri listened to its provisions: the CWC could act beyond its constitutional powers in “special situations” as long as it got the decision ratified by the All India Congress Committee within six months.

Kesri railed at the “unconstitutional” meeting and screamed that he was still the Congress chief. But Jitendra Prasada, a party vice-president, was already announcing amid thunderous applause that “madam Sonia Gandhi” was the new leader.

The axed president stormed out, followed by Anwar. He spent over an hour in his office calling up h is advisers, but it was already getting difficult to hear them amid the crackers and slogans welcoming Sonia. When Kesri stepped out of the room, his nameplate was missing, replaced by a computer printout that said: “Congress president Sonia Gandhi”.

Sonia has come a long way from her "disastrous" initial days which ranged from claiming to have adequate seats to form Government after 12th Lok Sabha Election to Relinquishing Prime Minister Post after her "Inner Voice" didnot agree with her Head.

Now  she has mastered the art of exercising power from behind the scenes goes without saying. Rules and regulations are interpreted or amended to suit her wishes. This amounts to wielding power without being accountable. She enjoys the role. Indeed, she has added new vocabulary to the lexicon of politics: power without responsibility.

But the paradox in Ms Gandhi's leadership is that while she has been growing stronger, the party is getting weaker. The Congress, which was ruling in 14 States when she took over the party, is now in power in just four States. The overall confusion is telling on the organisation. After the recent debacle in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections, the murmurs from Congressmen have become louder. The charges of favouritism where some people hold more than one position while others are ignored, and the lack of nurturing of grassroots leaders by the leadership, are among the most common complaints

Will she now listen to her sons voice who has candidly admitted

“India is a democratic country, but there is practically no internal democracy in any party, be it the Congress, BJP or any other,”

If Bobby Jindal is Indo American why is Sonia Not Indo-Italian?

The News papers today proudly published 5 "Indo-Canadians" elected to Alberta assembly. The news is about Five Indo-Canadians who have been elected to the Alberta Legislative Assembly, elections for which were held on March 3. One of them Manmeet Bhullar was Born in Canada, His parents left Canada in 1970's

Previously, there were reports on how Indian-American Bobby Jindal made history a year ago winning Louisiana governor Election. Boddy Jindal was also born and Raised in Canada. Similiarly, We also  read newspapers declaring ecstatically about how "Indo-American"  Sunita Williams  has conquered Space .  She was not only born and Raised in US. In fact, it would be more appropriate to call her she is Indian-Slovenian American as she is a Slovenian from Mothers Side.

Going by the above standards, Why is the same Media not calling Sonia Gandhi "Indo-Italian". In fact, unlike the above cases she was not even born in India and she took Indian Citizenship only in 1983! That means she is an Indian only for last 25 Years!

Its Amusing considering the fact that even NRI's donot have voting right!

Babies Day Out

Our crown price has just returned back to Indraprasthi after discovering Orissa. During this trip he visited Kalahandi to study  "Poverty as it happens in India" . Addressing the praja there, he reminded them his special relation with them thru his father, He said

Main yahan aayan hoon. Mere parivar ka aapse khas rishta hai. Mere pita Rajiv Gandhi bhi yahan aaye. (I have come to you as my family has special relation with you. My father Rajiv Gandhi had also came here.)

His visit gave Sleepless Nights to the BJD-BJP Government there. Oh No not in Bad way... Our prince is too naive opps.. Nice  for that. After full day of Hardwork, who can blame if the young price gets a bit playful at night and decides to play "Police and Thief" with the real police. I am sure his mother will be real proud of him because he beat the local police hands down and spent more than four hours in a tribal village without the police finding him out.

In one of the remote Village where people  were not fortunate to enjoy the divine presence of "Royal Family" of the country,, He humbly introduced himself and explained to them in Simple Language

“I live in Delhi. I am a MP and I assure you that there in enough money in India, but the money is not reaching you. Why India, there is enough money in Orissa as well. There are many mills and natural resources here. The people of Orissa are poor, but not the state,”

He told them a story of a place  called Andhra Pradesh where "Honey and Money" flows. He narrated

"In Andhra Pradesh the money is straight away transferred to the bank accounts of the workers".

There was a rumble of excitement among his  entourage  as they assumed that by "workers" he meant "congress workers". In ancient times,  the Entourage of Royal Family was sometimes referred as "congress Workers"

During one of the interactions, he was annoyed with the lack of intelligence among his praja as they kept asking him "how should one join politics"   He asked

“Why is it that at every single meeting I attended during my tour of the State, people asked me the same question — how should one join politics?”

Is it too hard to understand the Basic Funda of Politics? To join Politics, You have to be born into Royal Family! People should moderate their expectations if they think of ruling the country without having the royal blood in them. However, the Political Analysts are trying hard to understand what he the fifth Generation Crown prince  meant when he said "people should be promoted irrespective of who their parents were".

On Saturday, Taking a break from political rallies and public meetings, Rahul baba  showed his love for sports  and promised to promote the game. He said

"I have something in mind for the development of hockey and I will do something concrete. You will come to know about it later,"

I am not sure why he forgot to mention that  he got admission to St Stephen's College under Sports Quota, He is a known expert in Rifle Shooting. However, The list of Games  he won for Rifle Shooting is a closely Guarded Secret. Currently, he is busy organizing Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Tournament in his backyard-Amethi. We are told by Royal Messengers that that this cricket tournament will be played using "Tennis ball".

"Anyone interested in entering politics does not know how to join a party," he observed in Orissa, adding, "Why is it that at every single meeting I attended during my tour of the state, people asked me the same question -- how should one join politics?"

Next week he would be traveling to "Discover Karnataka"

Should India become a Hindu rashtra?

Interesting question. My answer is we donot have to become a Hindu Rastra. We ARE a Hindu Rashtra.

France overthrew Monarchy to "Become" Democratic nation. In Russia the Bolsheviks overthrew Czars to "Become" communist country. In India what have we to overthrow to become Hindu Rashtra?

The confusion arises because we equate Hinduism with Western  religions like Christianity. But in reality Hinduism is not a religion it is a way of life adopted by the people who used to live in this landmass.Indian Supreme court in a land mark Judgement in the matter of Bramchari Sidheswar Shai & Ors. etc. .... Appellants Versus State of West Bengal etc  says

When we think of the Hindu religion, we find it difficult, if not impossible, to define Hindu religion or even adequately describe it. Unlike other religions in the world, the Hindu religion does not claim any one prophet; it does not worship any one God; it does not subscribe to any one dogma; it does not believe in any one philosophic concept; it does not follow any one set of religious rites or performances; in fact, it does not appear to satisfy the narrow traditional features of any religion of creed. It may broadly be described as a way of life and nothing more.

So if Hinduism is a way of life being practiced by more than  80% of the inhabitants what else we need to do to make this a Hindu Nation? For all practical purpose we are a Hindu nation, Getting written into constitution is just a "legality"  Rest is the question of the minorities. The question of Minorities was famously answered by Guru M.S. Golwalkar, the second Sarsanghchalak of RSS in his book "Bunch of Thoughts". He writes

So, all that is expected of our Muslim and Christian co-citizens is the shedding of the notions of their being 'religious minorities' as also their foreign mental complexion and merging themselves in the common national stream of this soil. As far as the national tradition of this land is concerned, it never considers that with a change in the method of worship, an individual creases to be the son of the soil and should be treated as an alien. Here, in this land, there can be no objection to God being called by any name whatever. Ingrained in this soil is love and respect for all faiths and religious beliefs. He cannot be a son of this soil at all who is intolerant of other faiths.

Guruji's theory on tolerance of Hindu Society was proven during the time of Last Government when We had a Hindu Prime Minister, Muslim President, Christian Defence Minister, Sikh Army Chief and a catholic Opposition Leader. After elections, the power was handed over to "Sikh Prime Minister". Did we hear a whimper of protest?

Rahul to ‘discover India’ - by helicopter

Almost 52 Years after his grandfather wrote "Discovery of India", India's crown price has embarked on a yatra which his backroom managers has christened "Discover India’ yatra. Who can blame him for this effort, afterall the poor guy has spend most of his time slogging for livelihood in foreign countries.  The communal fascist Opposition should appreciate that  he is atleast making an effort to overcome his naiveness  about the country.

According to media reports, Rahul Baba wants to reach out to the "last man in the society" to familiarize himself with the “emerging issues” of the country and “the problems faced by crores of  people” thru this yatra. He would be  taking a chopper to the location perhaps to understand the problems being faced by common people while traveling on a chopper.

I am not sure whether his Spanish girl friend Veronique is accompanying him or not.  It would have been good idea to give her the photo opportunity and the opportunity to learn about "aam Admi" afterall she is the next potential Prime Minister Candidate.

Rahul will commence his tour from Orrisa where he would be addressing  a "Jungle Bachao" rally. Mr. Gandhi would take time and mingle with tribal people and youth, the Congress leaders are confident that his visit would make a big impact on the political scenario in the State. The congress leaders in Orissa should curb their enthusiasm as  his "special attention" in Uttar Pradesh or Gujarat failed to make any  difference in these states. In Uttar Pradesh, Congress came last in the Seat tally. We all know the situation in Gujarat. With election results in UttarPradesh and Gujarat, he ended up " the last man standing"

Vajpayee 'Bhishma Pitamah' of politics: Manmohan Singh

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said on Wednesday his government was seeking the "broadest possible consensus" on a contentious nuclear deal with the United States. I didnot realize that this would include flattery also.

Mr.  Singh invoked Mahabharatha in the Rajya Sabha to entice BJP to support the deal. He said

Bhishma Pitamah of Indian politics Atal Bihari Vajpayee should listen to his conscience and let national interest prevail upon narrow politics

In such situation Lord Rama would have been a better Person to invoke as he was a better example for carrying out his Raja Dharma. He even denounced his wife on the altars of Raja Dharma. Unfortunately, Mr. Singh might be limited by the choices of Epics he can invoke. Its only long since his Government trashed the Ramayana and Lord Rama as figment of Imagination

Crocodile tears?

Tears are every woman's most powerful and manipulative weapon.

Hillary Clinton used this weapon most effectively atleast twice during her battle for the Presidency of the United States.

Just as the political commentators were writing her off after shock defeat at Iowa, she got a little chocked up during an appearance before supporters at a coffee shop. The Media wend Ga Ga over getting an opportunity to see the softer side of otherwise her ice-queen reputation. We are not sure whether this gave her the much required boost for New Hampshire primary. but consider this, just before the elections Obama led the former first lady 39 percent to 29 percent. But Hillary Won the Elections!

And then the day before Super Tuesday, Clinton was all in Tears again, this time during an event at her alma mater, Yale: "Well, I said I would not tear up; already we're not exactly on the path," she's quoted as saying. Guess what She also won the Super Tuesday Marginally.

Now with both Obama and Hillary being neck to Neck,  how many more times will we have to sit through Hillary's teary-eyed confessions.

Now everyone is asking the question uppermost in the mind(of atleast us Dimwit Guys) is whether those tears were real? and can Hillary weep her way to the White House?

of course how can we dimwit men really understand the politics of crying. Our own tears, by and large, are restricted to unimaginative basics: bereavement, heartbreak and India losing at Cricket.

Story of a Magnate

She was born on January 18, 1956 into a Dalit family in Delhi and grew up with eight siblings in a modest home in a crowded neighbourhood. Her father  Mr. Prabhudayal was employed as a supervisor with the Post and Telegraph department in Delhi and her mother Ram Lata was housewife. Her family traces its roots to Baadalpur village of the then Bulandshahar and now Ghaziabad district of UP.

According to her, Her relatives' used to live in huts and were always in the most neglected and impoverished part of the village.

She did a BA and LLB from Kalindi College at Delhi University and later took a BEd degree from Delhi University.

According to her father, her biggest qualities was her fighting spirit. He believes she draws her fighting spirit from her grandfather who was a soldier and has fought in Italy in World War I. A Italian Connection here also!!! Wink

Between 1977 and 1984, she taught at various schools run by the Delhi administration. She left teaching in 1984 and joined Kanshi Ram, who had by then floated a non-political outfit, the Backward and Minority Communities Employees Federation, and the DS-4, another organisation set up to look after the interests of Dalits and Backward castes.

She contested her first Lok Sabha election from Kairana (Muzaffarnagar) in December 1984, but could not win. She then contested the Lok Sabha by-election to Bijnor and Hardwar in 1985 and 1987 respectively. She stood second with 1.39 lakh votes in the Hardwar by-election.

She was elected to the Lok Sabha for the first time in 1989 from the Bijnor seat. from then she never looked back.

She became chief minister of Uttar Pradesh for the first time with the BJP's support on June 3, 1995. In 1997, She again became UP Chief Minister with an agreement between BJP and BSP that both parties would have its own chief minister by rotation for six months each. However, At the end of her six-month tenure, Mayawati withdrew support from the coalition government, saying the Dalit Act had not been properly implemented in the state.

Her third tenure as UP chief minister commenced on May 3, 2002 but abruptly ended on July 25, 2003 after the Taj Heritage Corridor scam surfaced. The Supreme Court ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the controversy. Later, the apex court also ordered a probe into the alleged disproportionate assets of Mayawati and her family.

Last year, her income was estimated at an impressive Rs 52 crore, while she has already grossed Rs 60 crore and is expected to close the fiscal with an even bigger kitty. Till the December quarter, the Dalit leader had paid Rs 15 crore advance tax.

Based on her Rs 9.7 crore payout on December 15, Mayawati was already ranked 18th in the all-India individual taxpayers category, a remarkable rise for the former government schoolteacher. And based on her payments till December, which amounted to Rs 15 crore, she was placed 19th. She is ranked a few notches below Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan in the advance tax list. Not only is Mayawati's income more than that of any politician, she ranks higher than the Ambani brothers, Birlas, Bachchans, Ratan Tata and Infosys' Nandan Nilekani. Kumaramangalam Birla trails the Dalit leader, at 57th place, while the richest cricketer, 'Master Blaster' Tendulkar is a distant 85th. Aamir Khan is placed even farther, at a not-so-impressive 123rd. She has attributed her remarkable financial rise to her supporters who had given her large amounts of cash and pledged their personal properties out of "love and affection" and for the welfare of the downtrodden and the Dalits.

On her 47th Birthday, her birthday bash cost the state exchequer around Rs10 crore, Even by conservative estimates

She is None other that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati

Crown Prince or Clown prince?

Last month the congress crown prince created a political storm by claiming that "Babri Masjid (destruction) would not have happened had any Gandhi family member been there,". He went on to add "My father (former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi) told my mother: 'Were the Babri Masjid to be razed, I will stand there and get killed rather than allow the masjid to fall'." He was rubbishing his mummy’s first handpicked prime minister when he went to the den of fundamentalist Islam, the Dar-ul-Uloom in Deoband.

I guess we can excuse him for his naivety as apparently he was studying and making a living Overseas between 1990-1999. That brings an interesting question on Rahuls Education. Unlike father Rajiv Gandhi, Rahul did not go to Doon School. He went to St Stephen's College, Delhi, for a year. But the the most interesting part is he was not admitted to St Stephen's on merit, but on the sports quota. and the sport was (hold your breath... ) rifle shooting!!! Also, Most of the our English Media refer Rahul as Harvard Graduate but the fact of the day is he was at Harvard in 1991 then he transfered to Rollins College in Florida, from which he graduated with a BA in 1994.

After Studying and working hard for nine long years, he did return to India with a Columbian girl friend Juvinita. The young Lovebirds were first photographed together watching the 1999 World Cup in England. More recently, Rahul was accused of 'immorality' after staying together with Juvenitta at a resort in Kumarakom, Kerala, even though they were not married! Since we are on the issue of Rahul and Juvinita, i am tempted to do some maths. Indian Rajiv + Italian Sonia = 1/2 Indian Rahul, 1/2 Indian Rahul + Columbian Juvinita = (I guess) 1/4 Indian?

In an Interview in 2004, Rahul claimed that "I learnt to be an Indian from my mother." I hope marrying a foreigner and not taking up Indian citizenship for the first fifteen years of her marriage were not part of this education.
In the same interview, He went on to add that he had certain ideas for the country that he would "keep them to myself for now". I guess it makes sense "why put your foot in mouth when it can be avoided"

BJP Back to Winning ways

BJP's win in UP Civic Elections will be turning point in Indian Political History. The BJP won eight of the 12 mayoral seats and the number of BJP corporators also went up from 237 to 324. This election was note worth for several reasons. First of all, this the first election after several years in which RSS has actively helped BJP. In fact, RSS pracharak Ram Lal Agrawal was loaned to the BJP to supervise the party’s election management in Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal.

Now it has been proved beyond doubt that BJP's political survival is closely linked to they following the Diktats of RSS and remaining within the boundaries of Ideology.

On the other side, Hindus in UP has every reason to Alarmed. In February this year, minister for haj and minorities welfare Yaqoob Qureshi shocked the world when he offered a Rs 510-million bounty to anyone who would kill the Danish cartoonists who drew images of the Prophet. His wife was put up as the SP's mayoral candidate in Meerut—a seat held by the party. She lost to the BJP. Then it was Azam Khan, the other big Muslim in Mulayam's set-up. He declared on July 17 this year that western UP be made into a Muslim Pradesh. There were also reports of eggs and meat being consumed at the holy ghat of Har ki Pauri in Haridwar during roza-iftar organised by SP.

This election also spelled bad news for Rahul Gandhi who had personally led Congress in the Civic Election. Rahul was expecting to lead congresss party in UP during the coming UP Assembly elections

On hindsight, it seems that BJP losing the General Elections was the best thing which could have happened to Hinduvta Movement
