Shocking difference in Headline Language from NDTV

Even PM manmohan Singh gets Macho in front of Fairer Sex
Even Bhagwan Sri Krishna got swayed in presence of fairer sex, then how can we blame Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for making some macho statements in presence of capitals Women Journalists especially at a time when he is being called and his “strength” under evaluation.
Prime Minister speaking to Capital's women journalists became “unusually” combative and claimed that
"I was very clear that if the nuclear deal had not gone through, I would have resigned as prime minister”
The surprise macho statement is completely opposite to what Manmohan Singh told his audience while replying to a question after he received the ‘Leader of the Year’ Award from NDTV. At that time he had said
I have already said that if the deal does not go through, it will be a disappointment but in life one has to learn to live with many disappointments

NDTV and its Lola Kutty – Disgusting is the word!
NDTV has restarted a program in which a character called lola Kutty interviews different politicians. I personally think its really disgusting how NDTV is trying to portray a section on Indian society!!
What message is NDTV trying to pass?

Has NDTV turned itself to PR Agency of Rahul Gandhi?
Few days back, NDTV went into a trance and announced to the world that “Rahul Gandhi is a popular choice for PM” and then they go on to say that “Rahul Gandhi is as popular a choice for PM as Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi”.
I managed to digout the video and following is the result -
The poll was conducted on a hypothetical premises “If congress comes to power”. that means non congress candidates were not considered. If NDTV had even an iota of Journalistic decency they should have said “Rahul Gandhi is a popular choice for PM among congress supporters”
- Also, other way to look at the same data is, Congress PM Candidate Manmohan Singh is not rated very high even among congress supporters!
- Where is Pranab Mukherjee, the number two in present government? was he considered for this poll?

Congress Election manifesto - A critical analysis
Its election time and as usual every party has released their manifesto. Congress also has released its manifesto even though it used the occasion more for BJP Bashing than talking about its programs. I spend some time analyzing the Manifesto and following is the result
The question is Who will be PM?
Even after going thru the manifesto several times, I am still confused about the congress candidate for PM Position. Congress silence on PM candidate in Manifesto is deafening!! Only time will tell whether this was an oversight or a deliberate omission
Manifesto: We pledge to continue our work to ensure a life of SECURITY, DIGNITY AND PROSPERITY for every citizen.
Its amusing to see UPA belatedly putting Security before Dignity and Prosperity considering the fact that their five years of rule saw serial bomb blasts in 67 cities across India. Terrorists attacked and killed us at will without fear of any retribution. It was the same UPA which scrapped POTA to protect “Human Rights of Minorities”. Afzal Guru is still alive and kicking
I am not sure about others but Hindu lost their dignity the day, this government declared Sri Ram a myth! A 5000 year old cherished belief was sacrificed on the altars of secularism!
UPA performance on “prosperity” has also been equally abysmal. In Year 2007, India’s Human Development Index (HDI) dropped two places, to 128(out of 177) where we are in good company of our neighbor Pakistan(136)!
Manifesto: The Indian National Congress is the party that, under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, led our people into freedom from colonial rule. It is the party whose leadership, by the admission of Dr. Ambedkar himself, made our Constitution possible.
History has never been strong point of Congress. After all history is also HIS-Story. The story as told by the victor. Congress having ruled this country for last 50 years has changed history to suit its purpose. Tipu Sultan became secular, Genocide of Hindus by Mughals was conveniently forgotten lest it might raise some unsecular questions! . By bodycount the Hindu Genocide will outperform Jewish Genocide by at least 10 times. In fact we should be proud of having entire mountain range named after us – HinduKush(Destruction of Hindus)
But it would have been wise if congress had left Gandhi and Ambedkar from this Muddle. Indians may have short memory but its not that short!
Gandhiji Says:
Though split into two, India having attained political independence throu
gh means provided by the Indian National Congress, the Congress in its present shape and form, i.e., as a propaganda vehicle and parliamentary machine, has outlived its use. India has still to attain social, moral and economic independence in terms of its seven hundred thousand villages as distinguished from its cities and towns. The struggle for the ascendancy of civil over military power is bound to take place in India's progress towards its democratic goal. It must be kept out of unhealthy competition with political parties and communal bodies. For these and other similar reasons, the A. I. C .C. resolves to disband the existing Congress organization and flower into a Lok Sevak Sangh under the following rules, with power to alter them as occasion may demand.
Congress could have done better by not asking vote in the name of Ambedkar whom they defeated in 1952 Lok Sabha Elections! This is what B. R Ambedkar had to say about congress in his book "What Congress and Gandhi Have Done to the Untouchables"
B. R Ambedkar Says:
Having led the Untouchables against the Congress for. full five years in the Round Table Conference and in the Joint Parliamentary Committee, I could not pretend to be unaffected by the results of the Elections. To me the question was: Had the Untouchables gone over to the Congress ? Such a thing was to me unimaginable. For, I could not believe that the Untouchables—apart from a few agents of the Congress who are always tempted by the Congress gold to play the part of the traitor—could think of going over to the Congress en masse forgetting how Mr. Gandhi and the Congress opposed, inch by inch up to the very last moment, every one of their demands for political safeguards. I had therefore decided to study the Returns of the election that took place in 1937.
In fact, he captured his emotions about congress in a simple quote by thucydides
"lt may be your interest to be our masters, but how can it be ours to be your slaves ? "
Manifesto: Only a united India can fight terrorism
I think no Indian will have objection to this. But how can we stand united when Prime Minister of country ManMohan Singh gives minorities first claim of resources
We will have to devise innovative plans to ensure that minorities, particularly the Muslim minority, are empowered to share equitably in the fruits of development. They must have the first claim on resources.
Does this leave any room for unity? With one stroke, MMS downgraded 80% population of the country to second grade citizens. The government’s special order for loans to the minorities surpasses all limits of constitutional propriety. Add to it the religion-based headcount in the army. These rabid appeasement moves would no doubt ruin the communal harmony by sowing the seed of enmity between the majority and the minority.
The Major Accomplishments: 2004-2009 as listed by Manifesto
Manifesto: It has restored secular and Constitutional values in governance
UPA Government continued the work of Indira Gandhi and every Independent Pillars of Democratic India was further weakened during five years of UPA Rule -
- President of India: UPA appointed a president whose only qualification was her unswerving devotion to Sonia Gandhi. We for first time in history now have a President who claims to get instructions from dead people. During her tenure as Maharashtra's health minister during the Emergency (1975-77), Patil issued a statement in the State Assembly endorsing a proposal seeking to make "family planning" (birth control) compulsory for all citizens. The government would take "appropriate steps" to ensure that all citizens adopted family planning measures she said, adding, "We are also thinking of forcible sterilization for people with anuvaunshik ajar [hereditary diseases]."
- Prime Minister: We for first time have a PM who has never been elected to the Lower House of Parliament. MMS is selected and NOT elected(and also have no intention of getting elected). He is in this position not because he is most suited because Madam Sonia considers him least dangerous for her/her family interests in Congress!.
- Election Commission: Thanks to UPA, We after long time now have a CEC whose loyalties are questionable!
- Supreme Court: Its only last week in an interview to television channel NDTV, Sanjay Dutt said he had tapes of the conversation he had with a UPA minister who threatened him that Supreme Court cases would go against him if he did not join the Congress.
- CBI: Less said better it is
Manifesto: It has enacted the path-breaking National Rural Employment Guarantee Act
This is what World Bank has described NREGA as a barrier to economic development
The World Bank has described National Rural Employment Guarantee (NREGA) scheme of the UPA government as a policy barrier hurting economic development and poverty alleviation. Various schemes of the Indian government like NREGA, watershed programmes and schemes for development of small and medium towns are acting as "policy barriers to internal mobility", the bank said in its 'World Development Report' 2009.
One can argue that World Bank may be wrong but our own CAG review had found major gaps in NREGA functioning
A review done by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) had found that there was no data on the number of people who demanded jobs and who actually benefitted. The CAG review said in as many as 70% of the villages checked, there were no proper records available on number of households who demanded jobs and the actual number of people who benefited from the job guarantee scheme.
Manifesto: It has imparted a new momentum to the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan for primary education.
The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan saw a decline in expenditure which went down from Rs 12,020.2 crore in 2007-08 to Rs 11,940 crore in 2008-09 and has been further decreased to Rs 11,933.9 in this year’s interim budget.
In fact, the situation is even worse if we consider the fact that UPA Government gave a quiet burial to the Right to Education Bill citing lack of funds. It's intriguing because the government is ready to give funds to create additional places in higher education institutions to accommodate the reservation policy, but cites lack funds for elementary education.
Manifesto: It has delivered five years of record economic growth.
Nothing great considering World economy was going thru a boom during this period. We all can see the situation of Indian economy now. The World Bank has projected a slower 4 percent growth for India in 2009
![]()
Manifesto: It has initiated the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM)
Errr…. I have heard Vilasrao Deshmukhs promise of turning Mumbai to Shanghai, I am not sure about shanghai but it certainly looks like Venice ever after a minor drizzle!
Manifesto: It has earned for India a new respect and stature internationally.
This is Hilarious considering our failed bid for UN Security council Seat and candidature of Sashi Taroor. Poor Sashi is now fighting for MP Position from Trivandrum. In fact, India’s global stature has come down in Last 5 years! Five Years back, we had a ministry who took on world nuclear apartheid by conducting Pokhran II and now we have a ministry which gave it away!!
Manifesto: It has considerably strengthened the country’s capacity and capability to deal with both external and internal security challenges.
My only response is OH MY GOD!!!
To be continued……………….

Pathetic Secular reporting again from NDTV
NDTV yesterday reported
Girl commits suicide after humiliation?
In the report NDTV claim
Then a school girl, Ashwini, committed suicide. She was publicly humiliated by suspected Bajrang Dal men for being friends with a Muslim man, Salim.
The group had dragged her to a police station, summoned her parents and forced Salim to write a letter of apology.
Ashwini was harassed before the police, but the men have not been arrested yet.
Salim has been taken into police custody, now charged with possible rape of a minor. For the saffron police, women might seem the soft target but it goes beyond that.Daughter of a Kerala CPM MLA, who was pulled out of a bus and attacked, made no secret of what her attackers had told her.
''They told me you are a Hindu, why do you want speak to Muslims?''
Two cases in a row -- one leading to the death of a minor girl.
Now lets analyses some of facts
1. First of all doesn't it look at all suspicious on why Sixteen year old girl, a student of class ninth at the Aikala High School in Kinnigoli had gone to Maroor near Moodabidri in a bus to meet Saleem, a conductor-cum owner of the bus?
2. NDTV, Nowhere says how they came to the conclusion that those activists were "suspected" BD Members? Did they should slogans? Did they show them their BD iCard?
3. NDTV report says she was dragged to police station! Why not simply taken to police station? How can a person be dragged to police station? Actually the word was purposefully used to give a more harrowing effect!
4. NDTV Conveniently omitted the fact that on the complaint of the girl's father, a case has been registered against Saleem under Section 376 and 305 of the IPC for luring and raping the girl. Why did father register the complain? was she running away with him? This was reported in Indian Express
5. How was girl harassed in front of police?
6. And most outrageous of NDTV clubbing this incident with another incident in MLA's girl was harassed without naming the actual culprits behind the CPM MLA's daughters case. In that case, it was DYFI(Youth front of CPM) was involved!
A Mangalore police spokesperson said on phone that
according to the parents of the girl, she had told them that she was raped by Saleem on Tuesday. The public saw this girl and her friend with Saleem and his friend. Since the girl was in school uniform, they got suspicious why she was not in school and informed the Moodabidri police. The four were let off after questioning but now Saleem has been arrested and charged with rape and abetment to suicide following a complaint by the girl’s father.
A certain young girl who was seduced to have sex with a man of 26 years killed herself to hide her shame on Tuesday night. The incident occured in a place called Maroor in Mulky police limits. According to a complaint lodged by one Jaya Moolya two girls were lured by one Saleem aged 26 and taken to a secluded places in Maroor. Some elders who caught the man in a compromising condition along with the girl handed over the girl to the Moodbidri police station while the man Saleem escaped.
Later her parents took her home and was reprimanded for her behavior. Unable to control the shame that has come over her she consumed poison and killed herself. The complaint lodged with the Mulky police by Mr. Moolya says that Saleem had raped his daughter and was responsible for her death. The police are on the lookout for Saleem who is still at large.

Secular NDTV
NDTV today published the news of Heavy devotee rush at Sabarimala, one of most revered Hindu Shrine in South of India.
However as if to "expose" some nefarious activities in sabarimala and warn the pilgrims, they included two other negative news articles with the bulletin ! I am not sure what was the relevance of those two news with devotee rush at shabarimala? Why did they club these together
Did NDTV make any such claims when they released the news of Sainthood Alphonsa. Did NDTV question Miracles attributed to Alphonsa? Did they include news on churches sexual abuse history along with the news?
If not then why here?
A secular test for NDTV
Step 1: Try the following query in Google search bar and see the result

Once you have above
Step 2: Try the following in Google search bar and see the result

The difference in Qlty and tenor of article will prove the secular credentials of NDTV

NDTV - How was your TRP in Pakistan during 2611
NDTV claims to be the only news channel to broadcast to Pakistan and since they have claimed victory on 2611 TRP wars in India. It would be interesting to know what was TRP rating for NDTV is Pakistan?
Find the odd man out
This should be read in continuation of Ms Barkha's defence of their 26/11 coverage. In her article she wrote
In the past week, we have also received countless words of support and encouragement- from thousands of people - Indian citizens of every hue and ilk across the country, as well as some better known ones, like Narayan Murthy, Salman Rushdie, Shashi Tharoor, Sunil Khilnani and Suketu Mehta, to name just a few.
So my fist reaction was wow... if Mr. Murthy says so it might be true.. Then some one gave me this link to Moneycontrol. And surprise surprise... Guess what I found... Mr. Murthy is Non.Exe.Independent Director of NDTV.
Now it would be too much to ask Mr. Murthy to criticise a organisation of which he is Director!

NDTV declares victory after 26/11 TRP wars
NDTV has today proudly claimed victory after 26/11 TRP Wars.
NDTV Website claims
When it matters, NDTV 24X7 is the most viewed channel
For the target C&S 15+ in the one million plus markets, NDTV 24x7 was the most viewed channel in the Mumbai terror attacks week, followed by Times Now. CNN-IBN was the third watched.
Never mind, even if the victory was build on the foundation of grief of countless relatives with microphone thrust in their face or the death of NSG Havaldar Gajender Singh.
If NDTV has even an iota of respect for the grief and anger of this nation they should immediately withdraw this

Response to Ms Barkha's defence of their 26/11 coverage - Updated
This is in response to Ms Barkha's defence of their 26/11 coverage. You can read it here
Dear Ms Barkha,
Appreciate your initiative on coming up with a spirited defense on NDTV's coverage of 26/11 and now even allowing critics from "hate groups" to post their opinion here. Is this the aftereffect of assembly election results?.
At the onset, we thank the efforts of likes of you because of which we were able to watch our motherland being ravaged - Live. At times, We were also able to see your emotional side, some call it "hallmark" melodrama but I believe it was genuine. However, all this donot absolve NDTV from its abysmal record on ethical journalism based on "fly on wall" concept.
In past, we have watched with horror and anger the NDTV reports which were completely divergent from the mood of the nation or reality. Your gaffe of “Modi might win but he still won’t get the visa to the US.” after his emphatic second term win was the classic example. Even NDTV's reporting during the election period has left no doubt on which horse NDTV is betting.
Now coming back to your rebuttal of specific charges regarding 26/11 coverage:-
1. On the issue of media respecting the security cordon. Physically yes but I fail to understand how physical cordon can limit camera view/zoom. We are not complaining on physical movement of journalist(we are confident of journo's sense of self perseverance), we are upset on what was aired by media. The question to be answered is, has over enthusiasm for "exclusive shots" helped our detractors or whether it had put life of our commandos in risk? Remember how NDTV cameraman kept focusing on the commandos preparing the grenade launcher! Lastly isn't it over the top to claim credit on NSG getting an Aircraft?
2. I can only laugh at the self righteous assertion on your sensitiveness towards grief of relatives. It seems you have conveniently forgot your small chit chat with Santanu Saikia? Even if we agree on your assertion, can you make a similar claim for your colleagues at ground zero? The arrogance of one of them was disgusting. Reminds me of the saying .... baap toh baaap. beta sava sher
3. On the issue of your singular focus on two hotels. It was amusing that most of the journos (and some of socialites who made it an occasion for their 2 minutes of fame) kept repeating how Hotel Taj represented Mumbai without realizing the fact than 90% of Mumbaikars cannot even set their foot in Hotel Taj let alone dine and wine there. Why was there no such shrillness in 7/11?
4. In this version of NDTV response, I didnot see the name dropping. In the previous version, you said -
In the past week, we have also received countless words of support and encouragement- from thousands of people - Indian citizens of every hue and ilk across the country, as well as some better known ones, like Narayan Murthy, Salman Rushdie, Shashi Tharoor, Sunil Khilnani and Suketu Mehta, to name just a few.
So my fist reaction was wow... if Mr. Murthy says so it might be true. But my hopes were dashed when I realised that Mr. Murthy is Non.Exe.Independent Director of NDTV. Now it would be too much to ask Mr. Murthy to criticise a organisation of which he is Director!
Post 26/11 NDTV seems to have started a campaign against the entire political class of India. I can understand your predicament on how you can blame one group (Congress et al ) without benefiting other (BJP et al.). so I guess you chose the second best available option of blaming the entire political class. But have you ever for a moment paused and thought the grave danger the nation would face if the people lose confidence on political system. You got it right when you sensed the anger in the people but it was not directed against entire political class it was directed against the so called secular brigade of this country. People are angry with your reporting because you have not sensed this anger and your actions are seen as a move to protect the actual culprits.
Following is one of the mails which seems to have originated from NDTV, Is this your official position considering this came out of your corporate affairs?
From: Sachin M. Kamble *****
Subject: Section 49-O
To:
Date: Tuesday, December 2, 2008, 12:13 PMPlease treat this as a MUST READ. .
Did you know that there is a system in our constitution, as per the 1969 act, in section "49-O" that a person can go to the polling booth, confirm his identity, get his finger marked and convey the presiding election officer that he doesn't want to vote anyone!
Yes such a feature is available, but obviously these seemingly notorious leaders have never disclosed it. This is called "49-O".
Why should you go and say "I VOTE NOBODY"... because, in a ward, if a candidate wins, say by 123 votes, and that particular ward has received "49-O" votes more than 123, then that polling will be cancelled and will have to be re-polled. Not only that, but the candidature of the contestants will be removed and they cannot contest the re-polling, since people had already expressed their decision on them. This would bring fear into parties and hence look for genuine candidates for their parties for election. This would change the way, of our whole political system... it is seemingly surprising why the election commission has not revealed such a feature to the public.....
Please spread this news to as many as you know... Seems to be a wonderful weapon against corrupt parties in India... show your power, expressing your desire not to vote for anybody, is even more powerful than voting... so don't miss your chance. So either vote, or vote not to vote (vote 49-O) and pass this info on...
The people of India , can really use this power to save our nation". Use your voting right for a better INDIA.Still not able to make up your mind go through the slides.

Lastly, one of perils as we grow in stature is we surround ourselves with people who tell us only what we want to hear and usually that's the start of the end. It would be an eye opener for you if you could take some time out of your busy schedule and visit some of communities in orkut and hear the unbiased outpouring for and against NDTV(and please be prepared for the shock). By the way, majority of Indians prefer orkut over facebook.
NDTV is an important media house, its wellbeing and longetivity is important for all of us. We as citizens of this nations hope and pray that you play your role with with utmost care and independence.

The great resignation drama akin to lipstick on pig
As the body count from Mumbai carnage pile up, As nation realize in shoock that Maharastra Govt. was forewarned even 24 Hrs before the incident, As nation watches in its horror the insensitiveness and casual attitude of ministers responding to the tragedy, the UPA has started another round of drama. This is the great resignation drama.
First to roll was Mr. Shivraj Patil - the best HM we could have gifted to our enemy. Shivraj Patil who presided over countless terrorists attacks suddenly found his moral bearings and resigned. There is even a rumor that he resigned because he ran out of dresses to change. Afterall, there is only so many dresses one can afford in a ministers salary. Its only a month back he was in his combative best saying
People say I am very soft on terror—what do they mean? Should I go on shouting about the matter?
Next in line was Mr. R R Patil. Government had no choice but to seek his resignation or isolation as he was contaminated with "foot in mouth disease". The disease causes people to say outrageous things at most inappropriate times. Patil was caught on the camera saying,
"Itne bade shahar me ekhada hadsa ho jata hai" (An untoward incident like this can happen in such a big city like Mumbai).
The Maharashtra Chief Minister is also expected to resign. He is making a lateral career move to Bollywood. He along with Ram Gopal Verma and his son Rithesh Deshmukh is making a movie called "Taj Mein Aag". Its expected to be a super duper hit. In fact its rumored that RGV even visited the battle ravaged Taj to get a rough idea of set he has erect for his movie.
The resignations have caught the usually stern English media in a frenzy, I saw a frenzied Srinivasan Jain of NDTV asking "First time in history of India both CM and HM of a state has resigned over an incident. Can BJP even dream of it". My question to him would have been "what else could have they done?"
The spate of resignations from ministers hold no significance for the nation. It might have worked if done after second or third blast. Now nation wants action and sadly thats what is missing.
The current actions of UPA is akin to putting lipstick on a pig.

Still untouchable!
IN THEIR LONG struggle for equality, India's dalits, or "untouchables," have often exchanged their Hinduism for Christianity believing that they will lead better lives by doing so. At the time of conversion, they are assured that they are being inducted into a religious fold that is egalitarian and free from the twin curses of caste and untouchability. But the reality is altogether different.
In a recent incident, upper caste Catholics attacked Dalits Christians, destroying dozens of their homes for demanding a separate parish. Two Christians died and many more were wounded shot by police who intervened to stop the clashes.
Troubles started on 7 March when a group of Dalit Christians from the Villupuram district began a hunger strike to protest discrimination in a local parish by the Vanniyar.
Three months ago Dalits from St Jabamalais Annai Church in Earyur built another church dedicated to Saghaya Madha (Our Lady of perpetual Help) and sought to have it erected as a separate parish with its own priest.
In response some 500 upper caste Christians went on a rampage on Sunday, attacking Dalits and torching over 30 huts.
Fr G Cosmon Arokiaraj, secretary to the Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India says
“For years Dalits have been discriminated within the Church itself. They cannot sit with upper caste members in the same church; they are buried in separate cemeteries; they cannot use the same roads as upper caste people. When the mother of a Dalit priest died in the 1990s the upper caste did not allow the funeral procession to use the main road; even the bishop failed to bring about a compromise.”
If same thing had happened between “upper-caste” Hindus and "Dalits" the entire secular media and secular parties would have whipped a Hysteria Reaching Epic Proportion and would also have assembled a band of assorted left leaning intellectuals to discuss the "evil called Hinduism".
Its really amazing how this news was blacked out from Mainstream media! Incidentally, yesterday, NDTV was having a field day with a news item on "Murder of Five Dalits" in Etawah due to some land dispute! Its outrageous they gave caste color to a incident which had nothing to do with caste.
