Last Sunday, in Bangalore, Mr Karunanidhi found a younger brother or ‘chinna thambi’ in Mr Yeddyurappa at the ceremony to unveil the Thiruvalluvar statue after 18 years of protests by Kannada groups, then on Thursday Mr Yeddyurappa expressed hope that through talks with his ‘peria anna’ or elder brother Karunanidhi all issues between the states would be resolved in a spirit of give and take. Kudos to maturity and long term vision of DMK and BJP leadership who engaged in statue diplomacy to get over years of rancour generated by the long-standing river water dispute between the two neighboring states.
